Nino: Better with or without Fury in this particular case? (Plus bonus merging question.)

Nino is an arena beast. We all know this. Even at 4*, unmerged, not-quite optimal IVs, and no inherited skills, she's one of my best units. (Pair her with Sharena and watch things die.) But of course she could always be better, and her BST is crap right now, so I'm finally trying to optimize her. I have a +spd -def one that I will be merging to 4*+10, and running a Fury/Desperation build.

My problem: I can't pull Shannas. I've literally pulled three ever: one went to Lucina, one to Anna, and one I'm trying to use for herself. I'm not going to sweat this too much for now, she's got to show up eventually. My question is, until I get access to Desperation, is having Fury going to help or hurt Nino? Her hp pool is so poor, and Desperation is the only reason she doesn't care about Fury's recoil damage. Even without Fury, this Nino will still be better than my old one thanks to merging, correct IVs, and access to Gronnblade+. Will having Fury ultimately help or hinder her when she still has to eat a hit before she can kill an archer?

Bonus question: As soon as my new Nino is a high enough level to replace the old one, I will be promoting the old one to 5* and merging her for Gronnblade+. Does she have to learn Gronnblade+ herself in order for my new Nino to have it automatically unlocked? (Not that this is a problem, she has 1400 sp that I'd just as soon use for something, but I'm curious.)

It will help, until you get Shanna.

As for Gronblade +, it's unlocked, but you might as well learn it since it's not that expensive anyway...

As for fighting archer, try at least get buffed to otk, instead of waiting for her to two hits ko (buffbot like Eirika or Ephraim helps)

About merge the unit
when you upgraded to 5*,if that unit have SP available for learn weapon+ do it.
or when you merged the 5* to the 4*+n, the 4*+n can learn weapon+ spending the SP normally.

For the question about fury, fury would definitely help nino. In terms of survival, fury vs no fury does not make a big difference on player phase. Nino can usually only take about one hit before becoming too fragile to take any more hits. Overall, fury's role is more importantly used to strengthen nino's offenses (spd/att) while maintaining and securing her ability to take at least one hit from an enemy. Fury's recoil does not really harm her in anyway while it does secure her ability to take a hit from an archer.
