Nilla really needs to chill.
Like, it's just a game, bro. Calm thyself.

If there's one thing I've learned being on Gamepress and looking Nilla's posts, it's to not take a lot of what they say seriously.
Wasn't he the same one that made the post about a lot of the skills in the game being crap, like Fury?
Yeah, I think people should just stop taking them seriously. There's nothing that serious to take seriously anyway. Seriously.

Lol ive been help my fiancee's charecters on her FEH game and she wanted some help on her 4* Saiso +atk/-def (a) skill setup. She's pure F2P so i took a look on what she had and i said "go darting blow". I rarely bother with peoples idea of meta for said units these days as long as it justs works.

"Life and Death - The only time this skill should ever be used is when you're using a brave weapon. It destroys bulk entirely, making it THAT much easier to lose your unit to surprises you neglected to account for. Life and Death is almost never worth using since its benefits do not outweigh its drawbacks."

Everyone has opinions, but not everyone has to agree with 'em. :)

Thing is, even if he has weird opinion about things (moreso controversial than "weird), the dude actually bothers to back it up. And for whatever it's worth, he's a consistent T20-21 player that only whaled one out of 3 core team members. Because of that, I respect his opinion but also disagree on a lot of what he has to say.
He's one of the more amusing members to me. pkslowpoke is just funny (in a good way, obviously).

But there's not really much to back up if it's just your opinion. I can talk about how much I think Threaten skills are good, and then provide evidence on why I think they're good, and then someone else can talk about how much they think Threaten skills absolutely suck, and provide evidence on such.
When it comes down to it, there's really nothing to back up because you're just providing your opinion on why you think Object A sucks compared to Object B, and then giving examples that favors exactly why you think such a thing is.
Do I think his opinion is garbage? No. If he says that Fury, Life and Death, etc, are trash 90% of the time, then that's his opinion, but I don't have to agree with it, and I can choose not to take him seriously over it. There are many situations where Life and Death does not "destroy" a unit's bulk completely. There are always exceptions if one cares to find them.
All in all, I honestly have no.... issues with the guy aside from his abusing the caps/shift button. Some of what he says I take as a joke, or just don't acknowledge it unless I myself find it to be worth taking seriously.

If you ask me, that's not the worst of it. In the absence of other context, I could take Nilla's ideas to be merely controversial and maybe more than a little dubious, but it's frequently delivered with such vitriol that the sense is unmistakably similar to dealing with a viper. And not only that, a lot of the vitriol is personally directed - stuff like "only bad players do ___" (this came up a lot in connection with fury) or "only bad players think/don't think ____", or even just straight up "you're an idiot" (ex: comment in the Hoshidan Festival datamine). I think I've given it to at least a few people around here, and I've called people narrow and been pretty blunt with some rebuttals, but what I see from Nilla goes way further if it isn't another matter entirely. To make it worse, the ad hominem is often used in place of a proper argument. It's straight up psychological manipulation instead of supporting people to make their own conclusions, even if using someone else's data or ideas. And he has claimed that his ad hominem usually follows another's ad hominem against him - I have no intention of investing the time to actually dig through his posts and make statistics unless it was specifically requested of me for the purposes of justifying severe action against him, but I think I could probably find at least 2-3 if not 5 examples of him instigating for every time people instigated against him.
I could take the VG stuff for banter, the joking trash talk we sometimes see between opponents who know to take it as such, but putting it together with everything else I'm observing from this person, the evidence is just piling up that we're dealing with a person who feels the need to put others down to create a false sense of superiority. It's nothing short of toxic. I haven't asked for action to be taken against him, and I'm wondering if I've failed to do something I really should have. His influence on the community has been decidedly harmful and destructive, and I'm pretty sure I could have convinced GamePress staff to act against it with effect.

Redditors should really just go back to reddit and realize the internet isn't a hugbox.
They should also realize that attacking a concept =/= them being attacked. The biggest problem with this sites userbase is the same problem most websites have, people not being able to deathwatch their self identity from that which they feel a connection with. I dunno how many other people have noticed, but outrage culture has gotten way out of control the past several years.

Well, the biggest issue people have is not 'what' but 'how'
If you ask me, I kinda find you entertaining. But I do agree that sometime you can get kinda.. OVER THE TOP!!1!
So that's maybe something to take in mind, but it's all your choice.
Can't really care enough to say 'omg you need to stop' probably because it wouldn't be as fun to watch.

I don't particularly care, because I do whatever I want, like a force of nature, but online, and negligible. Seriously, it's not that hard to ignore people online, I do it all the time, even as I type this I don't even know your name because I just automatically ignore peoples usernames to prevent myself from having biases during discussion.
That doesn't always work out though because after you see someones style enough times you just automatically know who you're talking to. It's almost annoying enough to the point where i'm considering the possibility of asking a friend to write me up a script for this site that just changes words out for other words or phrases at random to keep things going, but that comes with its own set of problems, like the way something being written matter more than whats written itself. It sucks having bias's get in the way of everything.

I mean you could make a discord server for this community, but gamepress already did that, and by did that, I mean its reddit.
I'd make another one myself and invite people, but only around 3 people would bother joining, and at that point it would just be better to invite them to my own server.
