Newfound respect for Glimmer

I used to hate Glimmer. I used to get OCD every time I saw people put it on characters that would far more easily benefit out of Moonbow, and let alone countertriangle matchups. My prime idea has always been that there's really no reason to use it unless it's Blade Tomes or characters with somewhat strong adaptive damage (Grima, Myrrh, apparently Felicia).

Ironically, these are also the people mostly only talk about Arena. It's actually in "PvE" where it shines best, and Infernal has taught me that very well. With the massive HP scale, it's almost a no-brainer. The enemies tend to have HP massively higher than their actual defenses, and it's almost godsent what a 2-Turn special can accomplish in even some countertriangle matchups.

DC Libra carried me through about 70-80% of Tiki Abyss, and Wrath Glimmer could even punch through Red Mages' 70+ HP.

A lesser, Arena-like example would be to be able to oneshot a fast swordie that you would need something like Luna or Bonfire to punch through...like Karla. My Libra can oneshot her with a Wrath Glimmer, and it's a cool scenario Moonbow wouldn't have done.

Now you're catching on. Glimmer has a much higher damage ceiling, which is why it's good against opponents with a lot of their bulk in HP.
Took you a while didn't it?

I understood that, it's just that it's the same people that pretend Arena is the only mode in the game. What I'm saying is, is that it's ironic because it's better in these PvE modes. I wouldn't have "caught on" if it weren't for The Abyss, maybe.

In Arena, there's no realistic scenario beyond the very few I mention where you wouldn't not only be killing with Moonbow in most cases, but it just translates better into countertriangle matchups.

Well it's also because there tends to be a lot of defense in the meta, ja? Lots of dragons and armours = lots of bulking up = moonbow becomes better
