Newbie here. Is it worth trying for a brave Lyn in hero fest

Since I'm new to the game I got the increase chance. The thing is I chose Lyn as my starter. Should I go for another one so I can get good IVs? Torn between her and Bridal Lyn...

You might wanna use your orbs for some other units. It's fine that want to get very strong units, but having a good larger roster might be better.

If you have a high 5* rate on this banner, you could go for Sigurd or Brave Ike. Both are very reliable units in similair.
Sigurd's main draw is that he's very hard to kill, great allround stats exept resistance. His skills cover that weakness.
Brave Ike is a self healing wall. Though he's a little weak to magic, against physical units he'll heal himself before they can kill him.

I'd say go for Sigurd. He pairs well with Lyn. He can bait units and Lyn can then kill them.

Only go for the bridal banner if you don't care about usefullness and just want the cute girls.

np.
One small thing. Look at the list of 3-4* units and try to find someone you like. It might be smart to save up on one of those units. It's a lot easier to create a merged version with good IV's from one of those than it is to get the just right 5* unit.

But most of all, try to get units that seem cool. Just have a little fun.

The Hero fest banner is something only new players can take advantage of...and you really should. What are the starting rates? 6% focus or something. Man I miss those.

Brave Ike, Sigurd, Neph, and Brave Lyn are all fantastic units to get started with. If I were you I would go all in on that banner(maybe skipping colorless, neutral Lyn is perfectly fine). The pity breakers you snag along the way will be great too. That's my two cents.

Don't worry about IVs too much when you're starting out. He's still fantastic at what he's meant for. A special hit from him like bonfire will still be great too.

Sigurd isn't actually that vicious as an offensive unit either way. The main point of his base kit and statline is that he tanks the hell out of anything that isn't a dragon, and if he's +spd then almost no dragon doubles him so he's doing quite well in that department too.

Spend all your orbs on hero fest. It is an exclusive banner for new players only and it has much better rates for top tier units than any other banner you will ever get. Spend everything you have until that banner is no longer available to you. You will always be able to get more orbs after the fact, I believe IS is currently providing around 200+ free orbs per month, so it won't take a lot of time to get more.

PS: I wouldn't skip on colorless either. Pulling multiple of the same unit is a good thing, because you can merge them together to make them more powerful. Merging is something that you will need to take advantage of eventually, and being a new player with a +5 Sigurd or +5 Brave Lyn is certainly going to give you a head start. I've been playing for a year, and I don't have anything like that.

My advice: pull as much brave Ike as you can, or Nephenee if you have a strong preference for highly aggressive units. Steady breath and wrath are two of the most potent skills in the game.
