NEW BANNER IS DANCER BANNER WITH COLOR DAGGERS
Answers
My initial analyses:
- We do need to see their stats before making any conclusions about how good the units are or whether they're worth pulling. This is most true of Xander, who comes with close counter and QR, suggesting he might actually be slow and tanky like his regular GHB version?! Generally not what you want to do with the low BST of a ranged dancer, and if he comes with a Saizo-like statline to pull it off then he's super-screwed against mages which is also not preferable for a dancer.
- The unit whose stats look most predictable based on the skills and name is Micaiah. We're basically getting a red version of her that doesn't come with the 30% damage reduction from a horse's first strike and dances instead of sacrifices. She will probably have good atk and res and middle to low spd and def. The elimination of sacrifice and the change of colour are both very significant. She will have a much harder time entering brash desperation, which wouldn't work with her prf's hardy bearing effect anyways. (Also, brash desperation is probably not something you want to do on a dancer - that's the kind of you unit you dance for, not the other way around). Meanwhile, she has gained a massive advantage against greens, most notably Hectors, as well as a significant disadvantage against blues, among whom are several notable figures including Hardin, Effie, and Reinhardt. The most notable matchups affected by her tome may include vantage Ares and Swordhart, who will find their usual defensive strategy completely useless against the Dawn Suzu.
- Elincia and Ryoma will probably be able to find secondary roles (their first being dancing) as colour checks. Again, ranged dancer = lower BST. Ryoma even comes with TA. Movement type effectiveness can increase their coverage, but then they should probably avoid TA.
- All of these weapons, with effective damage, are immediately relevant. The Dusk Uchiwa is maybe the least relevant, because I feel like we've figured out ways to deal with horses, but it's still relevant.
- The hardy bearing effect excludes glass cannons from using these weapons because desperation will not work. IS has therefore found an interesting way to give new roles to units that were previously neglected in favour of units that abandon defenses for stronger offensive stats.
- Cloud Maiougi (anti-dragon) offers daggers a way to use windsweep without worrying about getting busted by a QR dragon as long as they can find atk in the upper 50s, which, admittedly, is easier said than done. Kagero can probably do it with +atk, death blow, and atk+3 seal (or a buff if you want her to stack smokes), but she will not be able to initiate safely on fast mages, which is something a lot of windsweep daggers can do (in exchange for having very difficult matchups against dragons). Of course, this weapon might be just fine on its original wielder; we don't know yet. As for the hardy bearing effect, it is likely a hindrance more than a help because daggers trying to dispatch dragon teams probably want to use desperation. The only situation I can imagine where it helps is when you find yourself against a dragon with vantage ready to go, which probably means they will fall in one hit to this dagger. The other potentially strong wielder of this dagger, strangely enough, is Jakob. His middling speed is perfect for picking on slow dragons, and he can use a weapon refine and A-skill to achieve a good amount of mixed bulk. Since desperation is precluded, he can use his native renewal to gain some health back, and since he will probably do significant damage, noontime or sol can help top his health up so he can keep dragonbusting.
- Combined with new Ryoma being blue, we now have our first blue anti-dragon unit. Reinhardt, however, is still the most reliable anti-Tiki, followed by most blue mages.
- Sky Maiougi should be quite good on Saizo, especially with a moonbow. Again, you need a lot of defense to use this weapon because desperation is not an option. I doubt its effectiveness on the original wielder due to lower BST of dancers, but we'll see.
- Someone in another topic suggested that a red dagger might be a legendary, and since the next legendary is said to be red and his name Hrid, his assassination attempt on Surtr suggests to me that red dagger is the perfect candidate for his weapon type.
