New Arena, blessing or a curse?

With 2.5 coming just around the corner and arena getting a massive overhaul, I was wondering what public opinion on it might be. Personally, I don’t like the changes. Sure, increasing the bonuses is nice, but at what cost? TT buffs for bonus units, shortening the runs? Arena may seem more inviting but it’ll become more competitive with the more inviting appearance, making it brutal in the long run. Also Arena and AA were, outside of the legendary hero battles, the biggest challenge heroes has to offer, and it just got a massive nerf. I appreciate what IS is trying to do, but I feel being baby’d Like this isn’t the step to take.

Being baby'd? I wouldn't call it that, and I welcome it. While the buffs to bonus units wasn't really needed (at least in my opinion) shortening the runs and giving rewards for completing all 5 is really welcome, especially for someone like me that needs all the feathers he can get for all of the merge projects I'm thinking of starting, not to mention refining stones that I need for the 3 to 4 units that need refined weapons.

I'm going between Tier 18 and 19 (sometimes 17 if I'm really not paying attention, or really don't care) so this "it's more inviting" thing isn't really that much of an issue for me.

Overall, I'm perfectly happy. I didn't really care for arena anyway outside of rewards. :P

Another person just like me XD So long as it's not as mindless as auto battle, and has good rewards, I'm in. Getting to T20 without the feathers is near impossible (F2P or not) and this is a nice change of pace. Will make getting said feathers much easier. Especially for those with merge projects down the road (looking at you Soleil)

Arena was a total mess imo. I think outside of balance issues with the more retarded units like Nowi being hyper available and thus omni present at high merges (this is a refinery problem imo) the scoring system was the biggest problem. Bonus units encourage building New teams but are also hyper restrictive depending on season and your personal unit availability. Aside from that the scoring system is absolutely wack. Strong units with high merges should be their own reward by making it easier to win, not the sole determining factor of score. their rundown was kind of vague top me and I don't think they addressed this but they needed to do something. The bonus stats was completely stupid I agree with you though. I feel like making it easier is not the solution at all.

Also to the other guy, I wouldn't qualify yourself by saying you can hang in tier 18. I could teach a monkey to get into tier 19, and tier 17 is so free you can legitimately run through on beginner and get 4.2k and still stay in the tier. Seriously. And this is without whaling obviously.

Qualify myself for what? I didn't say my opinion was more important than anyone else because of that. Also, dunno if you were trying to invalidate my comment by the whole monkey thing, but I don't want to assume that since that would be very rude of me...

Most of my comment was directed towards the rewards of Arena, while the tiers that I go to was an afterthought. :l

I think it's too early to really be able to tell. I'm all for more rewards, but I'm not sure if the changes will necessarily improve arena itself.
As for the bonus unit stats, it feels a bit odd, but it will definitely help with unpopular choices like Alfonse.
