Neutral Merging Changes

Obviously we don't have the actual answers yet, but does everyone think that a neutral nature will become the worst in the game after merges? Since there is no bane to make up for, nor a boon to begin with, you're effectively losing out on +6 stats.

Reread the announcement. They literally use a neutral for their visual example of the new system.

They said neutrals get +2 to the first two stats they normally would get from the first merge and a boost to one additional stat that will depend on each hero. That's still the intended +5ish boost for the first merge; 3 additional points total compared to how normal merges work. Neutrals aren't missing out on extra points to begin with- superbane/boons aside, they have the same totals as those with banes/boons.

What it does mean is that neutrals will most likely get one of those extra points assigned to their HP due to how the stat boosts order themselves when merging.

Yeah I think this is actually a buff to neutral nature.

Like, Reinhardt isn't going to care much if his spd bane is gone, he dumped it for a reason. But Navarre is really going to appreciate that +1 hp/atk/spd. Neutral still isn't as good as having IVs but it seems closer than before.
