Do you have a Blade Tome? If yes, then she's probably worth it, seeing as her statline is decent. However, Lyon also has some interesting options...
Honestly, red mages other than Christmas Tharja and maybe some really good Cecilias are not that relevant now, and it would be more worth your time to invest in other units.
Katarina's a sad color for a mage but, because of that, most people don't build to fight red mages and have teams with weaknesses to red mages in particular.
Katarina still reaches fantastic offenses even when neutral and has swift sparrow right of the box, making her easy to make effective. With moves like Swordbreaker, you can easily make her effective.
That being said, I freaking love Lyon. His default kit (TA, Swordbreaker, Threaten Res) and his tome all go amazingly together. He fully counters all greens, red swords (not red mages, as you see), and all colorless. I'd honestly build him and he's cheap to build too. Very underrated.
