Need to Know About Laslow

I have always wanted a Laslow on my team. I don't care what costs, I don't care how much I need to do to make him viable. My only restriction is that he needs to be able to function well and have his own niche that sets him apart from being a "worse Chrom". Any ideas?

Wow that's actually a tough question looking at his stats.

I thought an interesting idea for him is to give him Rally Atk/Spd with Fortify Def and Fortify Res seal, making him the 'dancer' he was meant to be.

Slaying Edge makes a good weapon with a defensive special like Escutcheon or you can even choose to go with Sol or his own Noontime. Moonbow can be used to make up for his speed, I would reccommend something stronger but he's slow and more supportive with the 'dancer' build.

For B-Slot, I would reccommend QR, Guard, or Shield Pulse in order to play around his speed and defence to allow him to win the special charge race. In this case, running something like Bonfire or Ignis will be very strong (nuch better than Moobow), and obviously use defensive specials like Pavis/Escutcheon for Shield Pulse. This will also make Sol or Noontime good choices, running a pseudo Ike build.

And speaking of Ike, Heavy Blade is a possibility since he can hit 49 attack with Slaying Edge on neutral and 52 on +Attack boons. You can 1 additional attack with Silver Sword and another with Attack +1 Seal (which makes 54, that's the same as Ike with attack boon).

Having said all this, this is crazy expensive. Maybe you can try asking for one of the guys on the Q&A to do a theory on this, but for now this is my insight.

Interesting. He would work like he did in Fates, like a pseudo-dancer? That is an interesting idea, if not for the gimmick but how well he would function.

The only problem is that I don't have the Fortify Res seal. I didn't have the time to do Tempest Trials when it was available, and my team sucked too much anyways. Should I try for the Attack Ploy seal in this Tempest Trial, or is his Res too low to take advantage of? My Laslow does have a +Res nature.

I think 25 res is too low for ploy skills. As for his viability, the assist skill and c-slot won't make a difference to his offenses and are both always flexible.

I see. Perhaps I could apply Shield Pulse if I get a Saber so that he can run Aegis? If he has low Res, mages may be a problem. From my understanding, it functions well with Slaying Edge.

Yes indeed it does and I think that's definitely a good option as well. But at the same time I also think Escutcheon can still work better here because you waste one cooldown charge for more uses of the extra 5 damage reduction.

I wrote up a topic for Slaying/Killing weapons not long ago asking about Minerva's special and Bravart kindly replied with a Shield Pulse!Escutcheon set you can go check out if you want (it's also on his profile).

I'll edit in Shield Pulse to my original comment.

Sounds good to me. So I could run him as a highly defensive pseudo-dancer? That's not something you see every day. It also helps that I usually run my Azura on offense, so she could benefit from all of the buffs that would be passed around by such a highly buff-oriented tank. Though you do have a point when you say that it is very, very expensive. I'll look at my options and figure out a plan. Thanks so much for your help!

Follow up to my previous comment, Aegis and Sacred Cowl can be run, but do remember Laslow will only be trading with physical hitters and dragons.
