Is my Sonya still usable?

I pulled a -atk +def Sonya and tried my luck again only to get a -spd +def one. I was thinking of merging to -spd into the -atk since speeds more useful to her but would she still be usable or is she meant for fodder?

Damn that is the best/worst luck I've ever seen.
Anyway don't fear, Dark Excalibur is just that damn powerful that -atk won't hurt her too much compared to -spd where she'd be too slow to kill more stuff. However I do recommend not merging for now, Mirror strike can be really good on certain heroes that have high res but lack attack power like Niles or Felicia... That is if you actually had the heart to give them a try, they're not bad units, just their attack stat might not be your taste and you might like power.

With -Att IV, Sonya will have 44 attack, which is still solid and Dark Excalibur is such a good weapon, that the -Att shouldn't hamper her too much. I say to still use her, since she's good even with a constraining bane

I guess I'm on the other end of the discussion. I thought the -spd one would be worth keeping because you can add G Tomebreaker and the speed stat means nothing (barring any other Julias or Sonyas that might carry G Tomebreaker). As for blue mages, they all double Sonya either naturally by their high base speed or by use of a brave tome. I guess if she needs to double a lance unit to ORKO it, that's where it matters, but other than that, I didn't see -spd as much of an issue.

Do keep in mind that I don't have a Sonya so I have no actual experience with how differing boons and banes affect her.
