My Horse Emblem: Competitive?

Hello everyone. I have been playing FEH since launch and only recently got into making my own emblem team. Since Horse Emblem has always served as the jumping off point, I figured I should start there. Here is my current Horse Emblem Team:

Legendary Ephraim (+HP / -SPD)
HP: 46
Atk: 55
Spd: 23
Def: 33
Res: 18
Flame Siegmund / Reposition / Sol / Sturdy Stance 2 / Solar Brace / Fortify Cavalry / Heavy Blade 3 Seal

Brave Lyn + 1
HP: 36
Atk: 49
Spd: 39
Def: 20
Res: 28
Mulagir / Reposition / Draconic Aura / Swift Sparrow 2 / Sacae's Blessing / Atk Smoke 3 / Atk & Def +2 Seal

Cecilia (+Atk, -Spd, +Res)
HP: 36
Atk: 48
Spd: 22
Def: 22
Res: 32
Gronnblade+ / Reposition / Glimmer / Triangle Adept 3 / Vantage 3 / Threaten Res 3 / Attack +3 Seal

Ares (-HP, +Res)
HP: 36
Atk: 52
Spd: 30
Def: 33
Res: 21
Dark Mystletainn / Reposition / Blazing Wind / Brazen Atk/Def 3 / Brash Assault 3 / Hone Cavalry / QR 2 Seal
(Note: I also gave my Ares Sol and Luna)

I want to make this above team competitive in all levels of play. In particular, I want to focus on making my Cecilia more reliable as an attacker and buffer. Can anyone offer any advice on how to make her better? What buffs can I give her? Is my skillset for her alright? Any more tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to run Gronnblade on Cecillia, I'd suggest using Deathblow instead of TA to give her better one-shot potential. TA is better suited on a Gronnraven build. Paired with Bowbreaker, she can act as a useful ReinLyn check. Considering how offensive the rest of her teammates are, I'd probably run Gronnraven along with Hone Cavalry so she can buff the rest of her teammates. With Distant Defense seal she'd take minimal damage from either of them.

Lyn could use Fortify Cavalry so she can buff Epharim and Ares so that they can better frontline. If you wanna keep attack smoke on her, she can also run the seal.

Ares using Brash Assault is an interesting idea. I like the sound of it, but if you wanted to try something else, Vantage is an alternative so that he can pick off low health enemies after he uses Blazing Wind.

Other than that, everything looks solid.

Firstly, when you mean all levels of play, do you mean that you hope to stay in Tier 20 of the Arena with a Cavalry Emblem team one day? If so, then I advise that you do not include Ranged Cavalry (at least, more than one) because of the BST penalty that Ranged units and Cavalry units incur. Merges are a necessity to stay in Tier 20 nowadays, and with more and more people beginning to build supermerged Dragon and Armor teams with high SP skills that inflate scoring, Ranged Cavalry might become obsolete (for scoring) several months from now. (Though, they are really powerful and useful in all other modes, so it is worth building up a few of them.) For now, we can work on this team.

I suggest that you give Fortify and Hone Cavalry to the remaining units that don't have it--B!Lyn and Cecilia--because you ideally want your entire squad buffed in all stats. It doesn't if you give the Hone to Lyn and Fortify to Cecilia, or the other way around as long as you have 2 Hone and 2 Fortify across your 4 members.

I'd also work on getting better IVs for Ares. You current IV spread isn't bad, but most would prefer to have +Atk, +Def, or +Spd, with a -Res or maybe -HP. His stats lean more toward being a physical tank and powerhouse, so Res is less important for him since he does poorly against Magic even with the +Res boon.

For Cecilia, +Atk is the most important boon for her if she is running -Blade tome. Her Spd is pretty low even after Cavalry buffs and +Spd boon, so I suggest that you work on raising her good Atk so that she can focus on one-shotting without doubling. With that in mind, Triangle Adept is not really good on her -Blade tome set; replace it with Death Blow or stick to the Atk+3 A-Skill as a cheaper option until you get Death Blow. Vantage also isn't very good on an offensive Player Phase unit like her, so I suggest replacing it with G Tomebreaker / Bowbreaker so that she can avoid doubles against fast Green Mages / enemy B!Lyn.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely try them out. To answer your first point, when I mean all levels of play, I don't just mean Tier 20 Arena (I'm Tier 18), I was also referring to GHB/BHB, TT, GC, and PVE.

In regards to the buffs you suggested for my Cecilia, I think I will try adding Goad/Ward. I'm looking to add some variety to my buffing. Everything else you suggested for my Cecilia is solid.

As for my Ares, I only have one copy of him as 4*. I will consider merging when I have a good enough supply of feathers. Btw, is it true that having more than one if either Hone or Fortify doesn't stack?

Yes, you cannot stack more that one of each type of skill--meaning you can't do Double Hone for +12 Atk / +12 Spd. However, you can stack a Hone and Fortify for +6 to all stats. I mainly suggest two of each so that all of your units can get all of the buffs if in a square formation such as this (H - Hone Cavalry; F - Fortify Cavalry):

H H
F F

You are not required to have a setup like this, but the two skills are super easy to come across that most people use this setup with a Cavalry Emblem team. The Goads and Wards are significantly harder to come across, which is why a lot of people don't typically run those skills, but are still good. Though, I think that you are better with Goad Cavalry since the offensive stats are more important for your team.
