Base kit Brave Sword Arden kills him (although he attacks 4 times), and he's not attacking twice automatically on initiation, or has Lancebreaker.

This is probably easier to deal with than his normal brain-dead variant. o.O

Seems like a waste of a +10 Rein to me. His greatest advantage has always been an un-returnable double attack. This does not have that.
