To my FE 7 peeps

Just got a quick question as I don't use Serena's Forest.
Is the Member Card really needed? Like, I love FE 7, I've played through it many times. But I've never played through it without the Member Card.
Replaying HHM, I forgot that one of the thiefs has it on Ch 20 and I killed them. I've saved in a separate slot so I can go back if needed but in the playthrough where I accidentally killed the theif, some units like Lyn, Bartre (yes I'm using him, I've never gotten Karla k?), Eliwood, and Raven got some really good level ups in the chapter and I don't know if I want to give that up. So all I ask is if the Member Card is truly needed, on HHM specifically? The secret shops have some pretty good items but will I live without them?

It's been a while so I'm not sure entirely. But I do remember the Member Card I felt being better in FE6. Because one of the two secret shops in FE6 had stat boosting items! And yeah it only had two and one was on the level you got the Member Card.

I think i accidentally killed the thief with the card on my first play-through, and i could finish it just fine.
You will miss on some goodies, but you should be okay anyways.
