My dilemma

So I have three units, LA! Lyn, H!Jakob, and W!Tharja. All are nice units but I don’t really use lyn and tharja on my armor team so I was considering foddering they off to Jakob, getting vengeful fighter from tharja and close counter from lyn, to make him a full enemy phase unit, but I kinda want to wait and get bold fighter fodder so that I can make him a player phase nuke. What should I do?

I would without a doubt wait for Bold Fighter. When anyone refers to HJakob as the best character in the game they are always talking about his Bold Fighter set. Plus he is one of the few armor units that work better on player phase than enemy phase which give him a good niche. Whether or not to fodder them off or keep them is still questionable. Could I get the rest of your armor team?
For reference my armor emblem team is Amelia, Hardin, HJakob, and Winter Tharja.

I’m currently using a ward armor team with Black Knight (steady breath, vantage 3, close def 3 seal), hector (armads, distant counter, wary fighter, QR 3 seal), Hardin (warding breath, bold fighter, aether as special), and H!Jakob (brave bow +, death blow 3, wary fighter 3).

That's pretty good. Are the IVs for Lyn and Tharja bad? Because it looks like they'd add a lot to the team since you don't have an armor mage. But yeah, I would definitely wait after seeing your team. Even if you decide on not keeping the 2 of them it's probably better to give Vengeful Fighter to one of your other characters (any work well with vf) than to give HJakob CC. For Lyn if you aren't going to use her I'd give Armor March to one of the other 3. This is just a positioning matter, because the melee characters are more likely to be next to each other than HJakob. Hope this helps :)

I recommend to make up your mind first to whether focus on Player or Enemy phase build so you'll won't be wasting skills if you are just gonna use Him as a Player phase unit or just as an enemy phase unit.
BUT
You can give him close counter and vengeful fighter and also give him bold fighter whenever you get fodder for it so he can switch roles when needed.
