Morgan and (Brave) Lucina - dynamic sibling duo? (Warning: long post)

As a long-term project (VERY long term, as I'm f2p), I'm building a team out of my Awakening family - Chrom, F!Robin, Brave Lucina, and M!Morgan. I've settled on a Steady Breath-QR-Aether build for Chrom, and Robin is currently rocking the classic TA Raven build, although her final build may involve either Gronnowl or a prf tome should she ever get one. (I'm kind of sitting on her for now while I work on the others.) Chrom and Robin will of course be ally supported, because I am shipping trash.

Morgan and Lucina are harder. They're definitely going to be the more offensive units of the team while Chrom and Robin are more defensive, but beyond that, I want to try to bring out their best in the context of this team and help them work well *together*, and I'm not sure the best way to do that. I realize that Morgan's stat spread is kind of begging for me to hunt down a +spd version of him, give him Raorblade, and turn Lucina into his buffbot, but this is 1) boring, and 2) a complete waste of Lucina's potential. I have three copies of her, including one that's +spd -res, which is pretty much the best luck I've had pulling any 5* exclusive unit, and I am not wasting her as a buffer to a blade mage (especially considering he's the least meta color for mages).

My current thought for Lucina is to ditch Geirskogul, since Chrom's the only one on the team it affects and he doesn't even care about the speed boost. I'd probably give her slaying lance with Fury and Desperation, and Bonfire or Moonbow would be classic specials to go with it...or I could give her Galeforce and the Heavy Blade seal, which is kind of appealing because of how it could synergize with Morgan wielding Grima's Truth. Morgan attacks, simultaneously buffing Lucina while debuffing the enemy, and then Lucina and her Galeforce move in and clean up whoever's left. I have no idea if this would work as well in practice as it does in my head, though, as a Brave Lucina merged +2 with Fury and Slaying Lance would only have 52 atk (54 if I forge for atk), so she'd be fairly dependent on Morgan's buffs and debuffs if she wanted to proc heavy blade consistently. (Also if I go the Heavy Blade route Aether is another possibility to consider.) Another option is a Wrath build since I happen to have the fodder for it, but I've never built a character with Wrath so I'm a little unsure how it would work. I'm happy to hear suggestions.

For Morgan, meanwhile, Grima's Truth is starting to seem like a pretty good option, but I'm still unsure about what else to give him, and there's something that's niggling me about him, and that's his very average res. At 26 neutral res, that's the highest on this team, as Chrom and Lucina's res stats are terrible and Robin's is only really enough to handle blue mages. Morgan is going to have to deal with both green and red ones, and 26 res just strikes me as not quite enough for that. Should I be looking for a res boon Morgan? (It's a superboon, for what it's worth.) Holding out for the introduction of Raorserpent so I can build him into a real mage tank? Just build him to wield Grima's Truth well but give him the DD3 seal in case he needs to tank a mage? Any suggestions regarding Morgan are welcome.

To anyone who actually read this whole thing and is still willing to offer suggestions: thank you so much!

Morgan is the best 4* red blade mage and by far the easiest of any of those units to go on the offensive. Grima's Truth is just a worse offensive tool, like Dark Breath or Peshkatz it's not synergistic for enemy phase use. It doesn't make sense to use along Chrom and F!Robin for sure. On a no dancer team, definitely ditch his PRF.

If you don't want to run buffs on your team, Raourowl+ or Candelabra+ are the choices to make him an okay mage tank. Dull Ranged with Quick Riposte seal or a Tomebreaker, but it feels bad since there are so many better mage tanks in the red infantry pool. (Julius, Summer Leo, Sanaki, Arvis, Canas, Katarina, Lilina, Raigh, Sophia)

I'm a big fan of WIndsweep on M!Morgan if you can get the fodder for it. He could also run Infantry Rush so he initiates with Windsweep buff/debuff, and then gives the Heavy Blade boost to Lucina following up. If you're looking for something really goofy you could hunt down Infantry Pulse for Chrom and give Lucina a Firesweep Lance so she could run the whole one-turn Galeforce with a Heavy Blade seal (or Infantry Rush.)

Have you also considered Safeguard for Chrom? Not saying that it's necessarily better than refined Falchion (not to mention more expensive, fodder-wise) but I think it would be stronger in a pure Enemy Phase build for him.

Morgan as +Spd is great for Desperation build imo. Slap a +3 Speed seal on him as well to ensure he doubles. He can usually tank a magic hit safely on EP without DD3 (unless against strong blues, which he shouldn't be in range of anyway). After tanking, he's ready to double on next PP. His A slot can be Brazen Atk/Def (Brazen Atk/Spd is better but more expensive) to synergise with the Desperation HP threshold. Defiant Atk works too but the threshold is lower and riskier at 50%. Moonbow as special of course.

Lancina is a waste as a buff bot I agree, especially since she can only buff Chrom in this team of yours as the rest are mages. I support dropping her prf for Slaying (+Spd - can never have enough speed, since many high Atk reds threats have high speed as well). Burst damage with Moonbow may be better with Fury. Lancina's defense is decent enough to tank some hits, but Fury damage adds up. The idea is to get special activation to ensure kills so the fight does not drag on since Fury chip damage is awful without healers/reciprocal aid. Swift Sparrow would be better if you have the fodder.

Def/Res Smoke skills would be good for this team, as debuffing would help a lot in softening enemies. Give them to Morgan. He can be a major debuffer with his prf's effect added on as well if you choose to keep his tome.

Chrom is high Atk with decent Def from what I remember but slow as mud... Try a Brash Assault and QR3 combo? One on B and the other as a sacred seal. His weapon's in-built Renewal can help him go back to QR threshold and when he drops in health he can hit Brash threshold. A slot hmm, Death/Armored Blow or Fierce/Steady Stance maybe. Steady Breath would be sweet but hard to come by. That 25 speed though, Chrom needs ally buffs to help him NOT get doubled by a lot of enemies to help him survive.

Robin F I know nothing about hahaha. Never used her.

Actually Linus has Brazen Atk/Spd so it's not too hard to get, it just costs more feathers.

I might actually give Chrom Reciprocal Aid, so I think Fury's still an option on Lancina, but I'll consider Swift Sparrow, we'll see.

I really wish Def and Res Smoke were easier to come by because I would love to put them on Morgan. Hopefully at some point they give us a seal.

I actually have Steady Breath fodder available which is why I'm so willing to give it to Chrom. Using Brash Assault in conjunction with QR is not a bad idea, I might do that if he doesn't end up needing his seal slot to buff Robin.

Thanks for all your advice, you've given me a lot to think about! :)

I just figured I would show off my boy for inspiration needs. He's +def -hp or res I can't remember. (Bonfire for arena boosts).
