Merging Zelgius and Micaiah

I have two of Micaiah and Zelgius; Micaiah has Res+/Def- and Spd+/Res-, while Zelgius has HP+/Atk- and Def+/Res-. I'm thinking of merging them, strengthening the Res+ Micaiah and Def+ Zelgius.

Since I don't plan on summoning anymore, does this sound like a good idea? Zelgius's Fierce Stance and Panic Ploy are also found on Dorcas, Luke, and Valter, not to mention the Panic Ploy seal is available to use, which is why I see no need to hold onto the Atk-.

But Zelgius is better fodder than Dorcas! Dorcas is the best axe unit in the game.

Fierce Stance is a unique skill, however, that is rarely used over Close/Distant Defense so I think your decision is fine!

In the words of AbdallahSmash, Dorcas is the king of fodder because of Fierce Stance, Quick Riposte, and Infantry Pulse.

Then I'll be merging Zelgius. How about Micaiah, any thoughts Freez?

Fjorm is better Drive Atk fodder than Micaiah as I'd expect you'll go for SCorrin when she returns and then you'll likely get a Fjorm at some point lol

So yes, merge Micaiah, she is one of the best blue tomes in the game with her mixed offense and defense capabillities.

That spare Tailtiu is being saved just for Summer Corrin. I also have two spare Fjorms and a spare Rhajat, so I got two of Micaiah's skills on hand. XD

So merge the Res- into the Res+(Micaiah) and the Atk- into the Def+(Zelgius)?

Then pray for me to get a Micaiah because I got pitybroken my Lukas, of all people ;_;

I got pity broken by a lot of other units, but they're mostly ones I don't have though sadly they have bad IVs like Elincia being Spd+/Atk-(she's still going to be very useful to me).

Ironically, I got pity broken by the second Micaiah when I was going for my second Zelgius. I was just taking all the focus orbs to boost the summon rate, too. XD

Also no worries for the late reply, we got real life to worry about and to plan for the Anniversary and Legendary banner. Hope you get Micaiah, buddy, 'cause she utterly wrecks shop and is the only one my Winter Tharja absolutely fears. XD

UPDATE: I merged them, now they're both so tanky in their respective areas. Micaiah is gonna make Iceberg hit so hard. XD
