Merging Question

Okay so I have a 5 star Sothe who is merged +2, but unfortunately has +def/-spd as it’s boon/bane because I started it in the very beginning when I was a noob and didn’t know much about IVs. Could I select a Sothe with better IVs and merge my current Sothe into that new Sothe without losing the +2 merge? I’m pretty sure I still keep the skills and weapons and everything, but I just don’t know if I’d lose those other two 5 star Sothes if I merged him into the Sothe with the better IVs.

Even if I had to lose the merge +2, would it be worth it to do it anyway in order to have a Sothe with those better IVs?

I believe it would be worth it. Just a few points of speed can determine who doubles who in a fight. I honestly would sack a +2 for a better IV Sothe. Better to do this at +2 though, if it were a +7 or more, I would just stick with the Sothe I had.

You keep everything (except SP), including prior merges, so you can always change IVs. You can also check the resulting unit before confirming the merge.

If your Sothe needs to learn any new skills, just inherit and teach those to the old +2 Sothe before remerging to maximize your SP.

If you merge that +2 into a new 5 star sothe the new one will be +3. If you really want some assurance just grab a few 4 star units you have a bunch of and do a test.
