Merge or eat Eliwood?

Yeah he has Goad Armour but, Hector has it and I've inherited it onto a few other armours when I inherited Distant Counter. Besides I much prefer Ward over Goad and as it is, the one who needs to be affected by it most is Eliwood himself because he likes attack and speed. Meanwhile my other armours like Elfie/Effie and Chrom don't need speed at all so it's not helpful for them. And the extra point in attack for merging is pretty nice.

Well it seems like you've made up your mind. No point in foddering a unit off if no one needs anything from said unit.

I think you pretty much already answered your question, but I'd like to say just merge for the stat boost/arena points.

I personally think foddering a limited unit for a skill is dumb beyond belief unless if it is an extremely valuable skill like Steady Breath or you already have 5*+10 version of it. Goad Armour is not a bad skill per se but sacrificing a limited unit for a skill that isn't even close to being the best in the slot baffles me to no end.

If there are any f2p players are considering on foddering him off for no reason, realise that Eliwood has the highest BST in the game at 175, and you're literally throwing away the single best arena score boosting unit outside of +10 merged units.

Yeah you're right, I didn't consider the extra arena point boost, too. I'm just hesitant because the goad skill is pretty limited and it is helpful for a team with perhaps black knight. But yeah, I think it makes more sense to merge.
