Hmm, that build looks nice. I’d change his A skill for Death Blow 3 or Brazen Atk/Def as Bold Fighter completely ignores Spd and Brazen Atk/Spd grants him more Spd when he doesn’t really need it. Swap and Bonfire should do well with this build.

There is literally nothing wrong with any of those units. Sure, some are a bit underwhelming on their own, but investment exists for a reason. Heck, you don't even need much investment for most of these.

I'm sorry no. You can like a unit and make them usuable but they still suck compared to everything released nowadays and the older units to the rest of the game. Canas is bad.
Clarisse is awful. Ursula is a tragedy. Narcian, Clive, Tobin, Lyon are all also bad too. Even though I love the G!Marth he's not very good either. Not all of them listed are bad, but it's far from the truth to call most of them good.

Sure, other units can do a job better. Why exactly does that matter? If a unit can perform the role they were given, then that's all that matters.

Canas at the very least amount of investment, is a good mage tank with Green/Red tomebreaker or QR 2+ and a Res refine.

Clarisse was originally aimed to be a debuffer. If you wanted, you could make her an offensive unit with a Spd refine and Life and Death or Atk/Spd solo (Premium skill, I'm aware.)

Ursula is a good choice for a blue bladetome unit if you need one; since she has access to Cavalry buffs. But with a small amount of investment, she can be a good check to the AR's VerLynHardt meta.

Narcian, ok, I'll give you that he needs a lot of investment, but at the very least he's a flying Arthur.

Clive, easy physical tank, just really needs QR 2+ and a Def refine. Steady Stance over Def+3 would be appreciated.

Tobin: Triangle Adept and Axebreaker. Free Surtr counter since he's got decent bulk and he comes with an Armorslayer to be refined to Armorsmasher.

Lyon has a legendary Red Raventome. Give him a Triangle adept and Quick Riposte 2+ and he's got ranged greens and colorless (without Cancel Affinity, but who uses that anymore?) covered.

Groom Marth is fast, which is a rarity for Axe Cavaliers. Even on mixed teams, he still does well because of his natural support utility. Give him the Res Tactic seal, and he's set.

Garon is equal to Y!Tiki ( or better in tearms of skills), Julius is best mage tank in the entire game, Ursula helps me a ton in AR cause she one-shots Rein,Lyn and Veronica.
As for F!Robin i upgraded her instead of M!Robin cause of her color.
A lot of GHB units are decent, if you want to get unit as OP as Ayra thats not the problem of those units.

Hilariously without bringing stats or cecilias skills into account, Fae is the most balanced unit currently in the group. She isnt broken like ephraim or unforgivingly encouraging the current meta
