mean green fighting machine

so recently used ishtar and lilina to totally wreck walhart infernal and wanted a powerful green infantry mage to finish the color triangle.
current green infantry i have are
nino/Selise/deirdre/inigo/Ssharena/sonya/robin/merric/boey/soren
elise is hp+def-
deirdre is atk+def-
inigo is hp+def-
sharena is atk+hp-
sonya is spd+hp-
the rest are iv farmable and robin is lock in neutral
i want a fully offensive team so how well they can tank doesnt matter. just want someone who can dish out pain. no bladetome builds tho as i already have a flying emblem bladetome team. perferably not nino as she is sooooo overused back then that i got sick of her

I used to use Inigo as my main Lynhardt counter. Put TA and Raven on him and he does pretty well as a tank (I know that's not what you were looking for, but just putting in my 2 cents). While he's not the hardest hitter, he is a refresher. Having 2 or 3 nukes plus a refresher isn't all that bad of an idea.

If you really want to make use of the green unit, +10 and has preffered IVs then Nino(I know you don't prefer her), and Soren are your best choice. Merric and Boey are'nt that good offensively(they can but needs heavy investment) and the others are 5*.

Bladetome builds are the most offesnive you can get but since you don't want to use one then Owltome is the next best thing.
Nino
HP 33 Rank: 22 / 26
ATK 33 Rank: 7 / 20
SPD 36 Rank: 5 / 25
DEF 19 Rank: 23 / 30
RES 26
Soren
Max Avg Total Stats at Lvl 40
148
HP 36 Rank: 19 / 26
ATK 33 Rank: 7 / 20
SPD 33 Rank: 8 / 25
DEF 17 Rank: 25 / 30
RES 29 Rank: 8 / 25
both are comparable but Offensively Nino is better but Soren has a prf weapon which is just an owltome but has a "better effect" and higher mt.
If you just want a more offensive mage then go for nino but if you want more versatility while being offensive then Soren the best choice.

thanks for ur comment and would like to build soren. however owltomes wasnt really what i had in mind for fully offensive as owltomes require teammates nearby. reason why i wanted a offensive green mage was purely due to the fact that lilina with double death blow and ishtar with +10 atk on initiation was so that they can run into battle without relying on teamates. being able to 1 shot or 2shot kill a enemy without needing the team to be near u is what i had in mind. ishtar has her atk wave skill, lilina has her res ploy and have infantry rush on PAolivia with WoM to teleport to any ally who is hurt and away from the team
this is a for fun teambuild so not gunna invest +10 units to them
my initial top contenders were sharena as her weapon lowers enemy res if they have low spd and if u give her chill res she debuffs unit with highest res as well.
sonya+merric as they both have special damage boosting weapons helping in 1 or 2shot enemies.

So you want an offensive green mage, but no Bladetomes or Owltomes..?

Only thing I can really tell you is to get Merric with his refined Excalibur.

Both bladetome and owltome requires a lot of team coordination. While I love bladetome and find owltomes unique, I often find my offensive bladetome units out alone away from the team as they primarily chase the enemy down and requires team to follow or bring back said nuker, this leading to only securing 1-3 kills and owltome I end up baiting with as its harder to playerphase owltome units to get the maximum stat bonus. Mages like Lilina who can one shot units without needing majority of the team around her was what I wanted in my green unit. Ishtar who has amazing playerphase build can most times 2 shot enemies. PA Olivia with poison dagger is used primarily to dance and get them outa dangerous situations while sometimes securing the kills if they are infantry that somehow managed to survive hits from these monsters. Sharena can potentially double debuff 2 units helping further one shot while Merric and sonya who with the help of infantry rush 3 can fire off powerful specials often securing kills that way. I know all green mages can be useful in their own way. Just wanted to know if any one of them stand out as a possible independent nuker

If you're trying to avoid Blade tomes or Owl tomes, your best bets would either be Merric or Soren. Even if you don't refine Soren's weapon for the Owl effect, you still get Chill Atk which has some utility at least. Nino will still outspeed Soren though, and they both have similar availability.

Merric's refined tome has good synergy with the team that you want to run him with, basically ensuring that he'll get the Atk/Spd +5 buff at all times plus the bonus of lowered special cooldown. With an Atk boon that puts him at 35 Atk and 37 Spd before buffs. If you want pure offense you could even give him Life and Death 3 to bring him to 40/42. He at least has the HP where he can survive a hit as long as he isn't doubled. Also access to merges so you can really invest in him if you want.

The issue with Sonya is that even with +Spd she isn't that quick, and even if she does double she needs to hit an enemy that can retaliate in order to fire off Moonbow/Glimmer in one round. Elise and Sharena are good but they're limited so you won't have much access for merges, and I'd argue that either of them really want +Spd and Blade tomes honestly. Inigo and Deirdre aren't really offensive mages either.

No bladetomes or owltomes, and everyone is forgetting Sonya. Wo Dao tome, high res and attack, and decent speed. Res ploy means that Ishtar and Liling can deal more damage, and Sonya can nuke with a special proc.

Report

The 'issue' with Sonya is that she's not really that fast. Sure, she gets +10 damage when Special activates thanks to Dark Excalibur, but her speed isn't really all that high. She hits 37 speed with a Speed +3 seal - 40 with Fury 3. She can hit 44 with Brazen Atk/Spd, but not everyone has the fodder for that.

Meanwhile, Merric can hit 40 speed with a speed boon and his tome's refine effect (which is not hard to pull off if on a team full of mages).

So, when it comes to offensive capabilities (in my eyes anyway), Merric is the better pick.
