Marisa - how to bring the crimson flash back from Bench-warm-ia

Well I've been trying to get builds for my most favorite Sword masters Joshua and Marisa. While Joshua is easy to come up with interesting builds (mostly because he already has a very nice weapon and a statline of 50/36/33/33) I find it really difficult to get something good for Marisa. She seems like the jack of all trades compared to other infantry swords…
E.g.
- Lene with Fury AND summoner support has Pretty similar stats compared to a fury Marisa without summoner support. Which doesn't make Lene better but isn't really helping Marisa's Utility.
. Powercreeping is no secret so it is no surprise to have newer infantry swords beating the older ones. But as I am a happy owner of Laevatein I hardly see Marisa's agruments for a Team Slot compared to Laevatein. Sure one has much more Atk and the other HP but here as well I see a lot of similiarities in their stat line… But Laevateins' Sword clearly wins that fight. (***see comment below)

So I would like to here how you, Marisa's fans, out there turned her into a viable Team member for the end of chapter 2 and the new Version available soon.

(*** seriously Laevatein seems to be broken as sh*t. Makes a lot of fun and I've been waiting for a blade-melee but she just cuts through every Living beeing out there. Arena with her as a Special unit was the most hillarious Thing IS has come up with until now and I cannot understand why she is in Tier 3 xD)

Something you can do with Marisa is dual Hp skill support.
So keep her with infantry pulse, and give her Panic Ploy as seal.

Of course you need to have her with a refine weapon (wo dao is fine). The refine can be speed or def, depending on if you want her mixed phase or enemy phase.
Def can work because she accually has good bulk, with 30 def and 46 hp before refine.
And quick riposte in the B slot
Not sure about the A slot though. Close def/steady stance could work. You can also opt for her hp/def 2, since those are nice stats to get (especially the hp)

thanks fo far. But I don't really see how those Option will make her outstanding. Coming back to Joshua: consider Aether, Steady breath and QR 3 or Special spiral xD I want something similar for Marisa

yeah but wouldn't Lucina or her alter ego masked masrth do this Job and be dangerous at the same time?^^ not saying that I don't like it. And I am not simply trying to build her ld3 full atk as she is not as good for those pure offensive builds.
Might belinked to the fact that I don't like Panic ploy that I don't see double HP support on mine. My Cherche is even Def refined instead of Panic ploy

Marisa has more base hp, a weapon that gives easy +5 more hp and better mixed def on base.
Plus she comes with one of the better flat stat A skills and has Infantry pulse for free.

You shouldn't give Lucina Panic ploy, she won't be able to proc it on armored units.

I just feel people should play into character's strengths, and not force them into roles other people can do a lot better. I find people do this with Marisa, when they just try to build her into a traditional offensive unit. The problem with this, is that they either put everything into Spd and neglect the rest of her stats- or stick her with a generic Steady Breath-like build.

So, what does she have going for her? In the days of powercreep, 36 Spd may not sound like a lot, but it gets the job done. You're doubling most Arena-relevant threats, and you're likely covering the rest with stuff like Swordbreaker. Her Spd is solid, but then she also has a decent amount of bulk to back it up. 46 HP on 30 Def can get pretty hefty on top of refines and the like.

So, queationable Atk, solid Spd and bulk. Ring any bells? I find her very comparable to Nephenee. They both get their damage off of specials and are speedy tanks.

My Marisa:

as always Nogitsune, very nice ideas you come up with. I like both builds the first even more but only one spare Special spiral ^^ I will think About it.
Maybe Chill SPD instead of Sword breaker?! hmm
gn8 for now

Chill Spd is very expensive, and it only slows down the fastest character of the other team. Even if an Ayra (for example) is buffed down to like 40 Spd, it's better to just use Swordbreaker.

Since she has decent defense and speed, I'd build her like Nephenee: wo dao spd or def, Brazen Atk/Def, Wrath, flashing blade seal (?), ignis/bonfire.

The idea would be that once she is at 75% health, she takes less damage, deals more damage, and fires off specials like crazy. Since her hp is high, she won't necessarily die on the next altercation @ 75% health.
