That Lunatic Chain Challenge

Man, I've been having my tail handed to me on the very last Lunatic Chain Challenge. I was doing very well with my team of Zelgius and Micaiah(Ally Support), NY!Azura, and Elise. I made it through the skin of my teeth of the first half with only a severely weakened Micaiah and Azura, took out the two red cavaliers, then lose then on. I went mostly Armor using Black Knight, Winter Tharja, and Winter Chrom with Sakura joining in to provide healing support and to boost her partner, Black Knight. That team held out before losing Chrom and Tharja, leaving just Black Knight and Sakura only to go down after Loki stepped in and reinforcements started showing up. I made the boneheaded mistake of using regular Robin in hopes his Raven tome could deal with Loki, only to forget he wasn't promoted. The other units were H!Nowi, Cordelia, and Olivia, who held their own only to lose at turn 5.

If anyone has managed to complete that map, what are your suggestions for it? I might go with the first team again and see where to go from there.

If you get an answer on how to beat it, please let me know too, because I’ve tried a lot of different ways and manage to get to the final map and then die by turn 5 or sometimes the last turn. I usually run a horse team up to the 4th map where micaiah kills everyone, lose on the 5th map, and then run a horse blade team up until map 10 and then fall apart with a turn or two remaining.

I completed yesterday, my first group was:
Ike (Heavy Blade + Quick Ripost + Distant Def); Obs: Can be replace by other Sword users like Ryoma, Black Knight, Xander or Zelgius;
5* Reinhardt (DeathBlow + LanceBreaker + Atk +3) Obs: My reinhardt is +Spd - Def;
5* Lucius (Pain+ and 2 Savage Blow);
5* Robin (M), the RavenTome makes your magic until battle 8, do not forget triangle adept and quick ripost seal.
This group hold until battle 9 (the absence of Green hero makes impossible to pass but you can kill 2 enemies if make it right).
Make sure to create a second group to kill almost every enemies in battle 10 in case you lose, this will make the group 3 just for hold 6 turns. My second time beat it battle 10, the image show the last turn.

My second group was:
Xander: Triangle Adept (2) + Quick Ripost(2) + Ward Cavalry
Camus: Triangle Adept (2) + LanceBreaker (3) + Hone Cavalry
Cecilia: GronnBlade Tome + Atk +3 + Ward Cavalry + Atk +3
Priscilla: Wings of Mercy(3) + Hone Cavalry

I hope this will help you with some ideas. Good Luck!

I’m assuming my units that I used (minus Lucius because I don’t have him) just aren’t built the way yours are, or Lucius is vital to the maps with Micaiah on it because she decimated the units you suggested almost singlehandedly. And then map 5 was again just a mess for me. By the time I was in chapter 4, I was on my third team and a unit down, and then died shortly after.

Finally managed to beat the Lunatic Challenge. My first team of Zelgius, Micaiah, NY!Azura, and Elise stayed the same but I changed tactics. I must note that Elise is running a Wrathful Pain+ with Dazzling Staff 3, Savage Blow 3, and Savage Blow 2 seal.

Map 1: Take out Sothe with Zelgius(or any other bulky Distant Counter unit) then positioned everyone else closer to him. Zelgius moves to the left to block off the Axe Fighter, Micaiah deals with the Lance Cavalier with Azura providing Singing support, and Elise heals Zelgius. Move Zelgius in the path of the Sword Flier with the others moving out of the way.

Map 2: Position Zelgius in the upper right starting point and Elise below him so that she can be in Swap position for Zelgius to take out Sothe again. Move Zelgius to intercept the Axe Flier and everyone else out of its range, making sure Azura will be able to strike down Micaiah next turn. Finish off the Sword Knight afterwards.

Map 3: Zelgius should be in the upper left and Elise below him, putting her in Swap position so Zelgius can deal with the archer. Move Micaiah to Zelgius' side and Azura below her. Micaiah will deal with the Sword unit with Azura assisting so that it goes down while Zelgius deals with the green manakete. Elise is to attack Oliver with Micaiah finishing the job either in one shot with Iceberg or two with Azura providing a second attack.

Map 4: This one was incredibly long, but I did it without losing a unit. Zelgius must be in the lower left start position with Azura beside him, Micaiah on the upper left, and Elise opposite. Move Zelgius to the left along with Azura, but don't Sing yet or else Micaiah will take him out immediately. Position Micaiah on the cliff to the very left while Elise heads left from the top. Move Elise just above Micaiah's start point and Zelgius into position with Azura singing from the north so that she and Elise will be in Swap range when Zelgius has to retreat once Micaiah targets him. Swap him with Azura, she sings to his right, and he swaps with Elise who can move to heal him. The opposing Micaiah will focus solely on your Micaiah if positioned just right with the others retreating. I forgot some parts, but someone will be able to take out that Axe Flier(I think Zelgius does it while still staying out of Thani range.

Map 5: I lost my team here due to a fatal error, but I was able to take out half the opposition; Zelgius must be in the position closest to Laevatein with Micaiah behind him and the others close by. Laevatein should be gone now, so move Micaiah in Swap position; however, you need to dance/sing her before the swap since that's the error I made that I lost my first team. Zelgius should be in range of the green mage and will be able to take it out. Unfortunately, I ran out of time for this so I went with my Flier team: H!Nowi, Cordelia, my second Lv.40 NY!Azura with Hone Fliers, and NY!Camilla. Nowi is sporting a Blade tome, Cordelia Firesweep+ and Fortify Fliers, and Camilla also running Firesweep+. Position the fliers so that Nowi capitalizes on both Hone and Fortify Fliers then move up, but not too far to avoid the archer. Nowi will take out the archer and the manakete will start moving. Strike it down with all you got.

Map 6: Start grouping everyone together with Nowi taking position to maximize her Blade tome while still staying out of range of the red cavalier and Eirika. Move Cordelia to take out whoever Nowi leave behind, possibly triggering her Galeforce if she has the Heavy Blade seal to take out the Lance Fighter and Camilla dealing with the Axe unit with Azura's help.

Map 7: Position Nowi to be able to get both boosts and have Cordelia break the wall, using Nowi's Reposition to pull her back. Nowi will be strong enough to deal with that Archer, causing everyone else to move in. Cordelia can deal with Marisa, then move everyone out of the Thief's range. I forgot some parts again, but I did lose Nowi in the process.

Map 8: This map I really forgot, but I did lose Camilla yet still able to have Cordelia and Azura for the next map.

Map 9: I lost the team here, but slowly move Cordelia and Azura up into position. I was able to take out the Sword Flier before losing Cordelia to Myrrh and Azura dying by Manakete later on. The last team was my cavalry team of a +9 4-star Cain(he has a Brave Sword+ from Ogma), Reinhardt, Brave Lyn, and Sigurd, who cleaned shop.

Map 10: Don't move anyone on the first turn, rather let the enemy come to you. Take out those that are approaching, though from there I forgot how the other turns went. I do remember being able to take out both Loki and Laevatein and surviving with just...I think Reinhardt and Brave Lyn making it out alive.
