Lock defensive teams AR

Just started looking into the AR mode and it seems pretty promising. While setting up a defensive team it said "all stats, skills and seal will be locked but only for AR" - or something very close.. I was wondering about the stats mentioned there.. Does this mean I can summoner support a hero I want to use, then lock him for defence and give ss to someone else? This would be very interesting as you could always SS one hero for even more stats
