LnD or SS for Firesweep

I pulled a +Res -HP Soleil, and I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade another Hana to give her LnD or fodder off this Katarina I pulled forever ago that I never use, I feel like since she cant counter anyway her offensive stats only really matter when initiating, and with a Res boon shes at 28/28, which is pretty decent, so i guess im wondering is it worth attempting to save her bulk or does she need that extra 1 point in atk and spd

Exactly ! "since she cant counter anyway her offensive stats only really matter when initiating"

I mean, it's logical but for some reason it seems like no one think about it. So many people saying "when you use firesweep you need as much atk/spd as possible so LnD" or "you can't counterattack so def/res don't matter"...

Well, thank you for being logical. Go for Swift Sparrow 2 mate.

And since I'm here, let me tell you a bit of thought of mine. When you use Firesweep or Wind/Watersweep effectively, you logically cannot take damage on initiation, so it actually works wonder with Close/Distant Def 3 (preferably Close) since you can't be lured anymore.

In that sense, a strong all-rounder like Joshua is actually a very good user of Windsweep, just like Alm was one before the powercreep era. Now, one of the very best user of this exploit is Tana, due to her built-in pseudo Close Def 3+ and her very good Spd.

I will put that into a theorycraft I think it'll be clearer

Except Firesweep users can't counter-attack the way Wind/Watersweep can.

Also Alm was always a terrible user of Windsweep. 30 Spd was slow when he came out, nothing to do with powercreep. Ike came out around the same time with 31 Spd and +Spd was considered his best IV just to prevent being doubled. The most common swords back then were Lucina, Ryoma, and Olivia who are all faster.

Of course windsweep is way more useful on fragile units who would die on retaliation, like ranged units attack massive tanks with DC but the point of Windsweep isn't to proc every single time, especially for a melee unit.
It's just to proc whenever you can't deal with the unit in player phase. If you can OS the unit then it's fine. If you can tank a hit from the unit, it's fine too.

Basically, Alm could do that, preferably with +Spd/-Res, even before the Phantom seal and the upgrades, he could use Windboost 3 along with the HP+3 seal to reach 48Hp and 33Spd (39 if the foe has 45hp or less) and at the time it was fitting perfectly.

The obvious choice here is use LnD. While it might be tempting to burn that Katarina i would save that SS for another unit (possibly a desperation user) who could make better use of its effect. As you stated before since she can't counter to begin with it's best to maximize her offensive potential and LnD accomplishes that. If retaliation is your concern than if available use either Hit and Run or Drag Back for your B slot to help you position her out of danger after her strike.
