L!Marth- Best Reds in FE Heroes?

Can someone rank the best (infantry) reds in FE Heroes including new L! Marth ?? Top #4 What placings would you give for Karla, Arya, Celica and L! Marth??

The best are obviously Karla, Ayra, Young Tiki, and Adult Tiki. Legendary Marth would be a little bit below them. Celica would be a Tier or 2 lower than those Top 4.

flying Tiki is definitely competing, and B.Celica is arguably more dangerous than Karla in a 4v4. (For GC and chain modes, Karla might be better)

And A.Tiki better than Zelgius with the bold fighter + QR combo? Even if it's so, it definitely isn't obvious. I think I would generally take Zelgius.

To be honest, I don't even place Karla and Ayra high on my own personal list because they still get completely wrecked to magic, or they're too player phased focused, making it easy to murder them on their weaker phase. I value mixed tanks and survivability more than anything, so my list is completely different.

Karla and Ayra are pretty... not up there on my list.

Well, if we're talking about Infantry units, then Selena is one of the 'top' units on the list. I personally don't have one, but I have one or two people on my Friend's List that have their "Show-off" unit as Selena and they work wonders thanks to her ability to have high, and balanced, defense and resistance. Plus she has access to Safeguard.

At max merge, this Selena's stats are 43/43/39/36/39, and that's not taking into account the buffs that gets added during combat.

M!Corrin is also high on the list. Thanks to his Yato refinement, he can work with literally any IV set and still be made into a monster.

Yeah, I have Selena up there myself. I've never dabbled with M!Corrin, but I've heard he's good.

I personally think Buffbot Marth and OG Olivia are two other great red units no one talks about because of their playstyle.

We don't know his stats just yet but L!Marth will probably be the #1 Sword Infantry followed by Ayra, Karla and then Brave Celica. Honorable mentions to Leif & Soleil. Brave Celica may become #2 if a Renewal seal becomes available so she can continue to quad more often.

All I'm thinking looking at this is "why would I use any of them when Soleil is in the 4* pool?"

It's not just unit availability though. Like you're going to want Armorsmasher or anti-armor weapons on your red unit for T20/21 unless they have an abusable special like Ayra, and Soleil runs it better than anyone in the red pool save maybe now Celica.

And if you're going to whale a red, you're going to whale Zelgius or your husbandu/waifu, not an infantry.

Not necessarily. Being a whale doesn't mean you automatically want nothing but armored units, or the units that have the highest BST. I've seen a few whales on this site alone that get into Tier 20 without a single Armored unit (and F2P players too).

You whale for the same reasons you pull for any units:

1) The unit is your waifu/husbandu. In which case, you're not analyzing the unit based on anything other than you like the character and ranking the unit against others is a moot point.

2) You're a competitive player, in which case you take into consideration factors such as comparative quality of the unit vs. others, BST totals for Arena, uniqueness of the unit, etc.

Zelgius is unique among the red pool because he's the only red in the 748 bin and his competition as a red melee armor is significantly worse than him. It's the same reason brand new +10 S. Y Tikis popped up like weeds during the summer banner while I haven't seen a +10 Karla since the Fangs banner because Karla isn't really any better than existing options.

So if like you asked me should you whale L. Marth, I'd say is he your husbandu? Sure then. If not? Absolutely not when Soleil is there and you could whale L. Hector instead for a fire legendary.

Using the term waifu/husbandu makes it seem kinda demeaning when it could be changed to just wanting to use characters you like. I don't have a 'waifu' or a 'husbandu' but I do have characters that I like from playing the original Fire Emblem games.

In any case, you do not need the absolute highest BST units with the absolute highest scoring skills in absolutely every single skill slot to get into Tier 20. You can be a whale, whale for the characters you like and still be a fairly competitive player. The only competitive thing in FEH is Arena and Arena Assault, and as long as you're actually getting into Tier 20/21 in Arena, then you really don't have anything to worry about unless you're trying to be the very best and get the very top score.

Not to mention the fact that many people don't use some characters for the simple fact that they don't like the unit. I have a 5* Nowi that I promoted during my "just beginning" days that I hardly ever use just because I didn't like her in Awakening. Of course that's not the same thing as actually whaling for a unit, but you get the general picture.

Maybe I'm just getting the wrong picture on the definition of "waifu" and "husbandu", therefore getting the wrong picture on your first point. If so, then I apologize.

Yeah, don't read too much into it. :) I call Lucina my "waifu" as a joke, but she's just my favorite character. Most people using the term are doing it out of endearment.

So yeah, what I'm saying really is kind of what you're saying: you "whale" or roll heavily on a banner either for a unit you like or you "whale" dispassionately, in which case infantry, especially red because Soleil is there, is a terrible investment as there are so many good options in the permanent 4* pool. Even I'll admit I always wanted to +10 a Lucina, but I waited for her inevitable legendary variation as I knew it'd have the most long-term value (I just lucked into the fact she's proving to be one of the best legendaries to date). But you don't like... whale Karla because she was put atop the tier list when she came out if you don't care about Karla because if the meta ever pushes her down, you're going to throw her aside and not care about her ever again since you never cared for the character to begin with.

Oh come on why did you not include Soleil in the list? She has more availability than any of those units and is a monster on player's hands.
