I can't really say if it's worth it since I've never tried it, although I'd rather keep his bulk in tact without the Life and Death refinement, but that's more of a personal opinion.

Simply he has a good weapon to synergize with high-cooldown skills, but i dont want him to be another Brave Ike...

Whenever he has low hp, he will atk with doubles, Also at enemy's phase he Will have 31 defense ... Hm

Report

Sure, 31 def. But the fact is, he's not meant to be brave ike, nor do you want him doing such a thing. I honestly don't see a reason to drop his def if you're going to make him bulky (ala brave ike) if you want him to be different, go offense and keep brazen atk/spd and give him desperation with your choice of special. If you want a brave Ike esque unit, build him like you said, but ignore the LnD as its pointless

Report

Agreed, I'd go offensive with him ( as I lack offensive axe users) but he should decide on a build type. Using LnD3 and Steady Breath doesnt sound like a worthwhile combo to me in the least, as it's pretty counter-intuitive, yknow, throwing away the def that make you bulkier for speed you aren't even going to use most of the time as a steady breath user.

Report

Opposed to Krazytre, I think that sacrificing some bulk to push his speed past that 35 threshold is worth it, especially when he has so much bulk compared to Raven. He also has the advantage a base kit that literally has all that raven wants and more, with the only ability missing being a better special dependent on your build, and a reposition/rally skill.

Now, I would say that you should decide what you want him for, and Ill explain. There is no reason to give a defensive unit (aka that steady breath) a life and death refine on his weapon, as it'll counteract his steady breath effect, and only give him a cooldown reduction. Decide what your unit wants to be, and once that is decided, once his role is chosen, then and only then decide what you want to refine his weapon as, because Divine Dew is rare.

So, I'm trying to plan him as both phases Unit.

4 cooldown for Aether is op with breath A skills

Also with desperation, if he kill the objetive, put him aether's cooldown into 2, at player phase.

During next turn, he Will trigger Aether for sure...

With high spd, even at enemy's phase, he Will double and trigger Aether.

That means, he will find source to maintance himself in the field.

Report

right but chances are he'll just die if he's attacked in desperation range lol
and then he might not be able to get many needed doubles he'll just end up being bad during both phases, especially without being able to merge to +10 he just doesn't have the stats for it, speed and defense will be too low to be very effective

I don't really think that steady breath would improve his defensive matchups too much. You will want him to bait only in the safest situations (against lances and slow axes), which he would be able to do anyway even without steady breath. Also by including steady breath, you are ultimately weakening his offensive potential, so in the end you will get Linus who decent in both phases, but is way worse than a focused build (so either full defense or full offense).

If you really want big specials while keeping it offensive then give him a heavy blade seal, he will have no problem triggering them in desperation range.
