Building neutral Oscar, already gave up 20k feathers for fire sweep lance+ and I have a lot of units that I want to build, most of them needing an extra 20k feathers for new weapons (Felicia and Berkut are getting poison dagger and ridersbane). Should I dumb the 20k I’m about to hit into a Hana to make her Life and Death fodder, or should I have Oscar stick it out with life and death 2 (which I haven’t given him yet, I think I only have 1 4 Star Hana on hand)
Life and Death 2 isn't worth it, in my opinion. I'd either hold out for Life and Death 3 (two current banners have focus units with it) or go for a different A slot. I did promote Hana to 5* to give my Black Knight Life and Death but I'd only recommend that route if Oscar is one of your favorites who you plan to use forever.
Since you’ve already given him Firesweep Lance I say yes, every extra speed counts for Firesweep users and feathers come and go very easily.
But if you’ve got other projects in mind, then Life and Death 2 is perfectly fine. And although I do understand Kaihaku’s perspective, I think the 4 speed and attack is definitely worth the reduced stats, especially on a unit who can negate it.
The game would be boring if we all had the same perspective. This is similar to the difference of opinion over running QR on fast units... I'd rather put something else in the slot but that doesn't mean it's useless. I think of Life and Death as a minmax skill...so if it's not maxing offense I'd rather go with a safer skill like Fury 2/3, Deathblow, or Darting Blow.
You’re right, it’s all down to each player’s experiences so far, which varies quite a lot in a game like this.
You also brought up a really good suggestion as well, I think Darting Blow would actually be a really nice alternative, budget option for Life and Death. Oscar still hits 54 attack with Hone Cavalry, which is really good with the additional speed.
