Lance Cavalier - Group Ratings - Episode #1
A new idea for the Q&A section here.
Rating a group of easy to get heroes of the same movement type and weapon, in who are also easy to get with merges and IVs.
I will give each a rating out of 5
And a rating for cost of building
Maybe I will add a support rating to it later, but that doesn't apply to this group.
I will not list all the stats, that will bloat an already big topic too much.
Any tips and feedback are welcome

So, today I will be talking about a group that I feel doesn't see much use. Mostly because people use teh Rein as their blue unit.
Lance Cavs.
Most are straightforward, but there are slight differences per unit. So let me get into that
(Side note, the physical or magic in front of duelist means the type of enemy they can duel)
--
4* pool
-Silas
Has great atk and def, making him akin to a mounted Lukas. His mounted stats are kept in check with a reasonable unimpressive 40 hp and his gen 2 bst.
Spd and res are lower, but his res can save him from oneshots some of his peers die from. And his spd is a superboon making it a good option to raise if you want him to avoid doubles.
With his flexible stats Silas is able to do a lot of different things from low to high budget
Role: Physical duelist/Tank
Rating 4/5
Budget: low-high

3* Pool
-Abel
Allround offence unit, fine atk and spd with low defences.
What stands out about Abel is that nothing does.
Abel Does not have the atk or spd to really go all out on the offence, yet his defences aren’t so low that he can’t take a hit. He can be cheaply build with a refinable weapon to make use out of most of his stats.
But he won’t reach the level of some other lance cavaliers on offence or defence.
Role: Physical duelist
Rating 3/5
Budget: low
-Jagen
Jagen is as abnormal as Abel is normal.
All of his stats save one are below average, with his res being amazing. His BST is terrible, being from a short-lived idea of mentor BST.
Unlike his green peer Gunther, Jagen does have something in his res. Allowing him to run Berkut’s lance with ease and fight mages + dragons.
Still his atk, spd and def are all too low to make him a good unit
Role: Magic duelist/ Ploy support
Rating 2/5
Budget: Medium-high
-Mathilda
In a lot of ways, she’s Jagen but better. Her higher bst grants her 2 more atk and 8 more speed. With a workable 32 speed, Mathilda will avoid doubles that Jagen has to take.
In general she likes skills the same as Jagen, maybe with slightly more speed. But that also means she has the same weakness. Low atk and physical bulk.
Role: Magic duelist/ Ploy support
Rating 2.5/5
Budget: Medium-High
-Oscar
A unit of the standard stat spread like Abel. Having a bit higher spd for lower res.
While the difference might seem slight, spd is a stat that can matter a lot with a little.
So when picking one over the other, there’s no reason not to pick Oscar over Abel as an offence unit.
His def is a superboon bringing it to a respectable 30, making him an option for a melee duelist as well.
Role: Offence/Physical duelist
Rating 3.5/5
Budget: Medium
-Peri
A bit of an interesting unit. Good offencive stats, with somewhat low def and good but not amazing res.
Peri drops a lot of hp, to invest in her other stats, making her one one the more allround set. Especially a refined weapon like a slaying lance or Berkut’s lance can boost her allround stats even further.
She’s still frail physically, but a lot depents on her IV. And she makes great use out of merges.
Sadly, I would also say that she’s a master of none. There’s nothing she does really well. She’s around Abel’s level. Having a niche for her res, but taking a hit in usability in hp/def
Role: Mixed duelist
Rating 3/5’
Budget: medium
-Roderick
Almost the same as Oscar, so not much to be said.
He’s comes a firesweep lance, so that’s nice for buget. His atk is a bit lower than Oscar, but his res is higher. Making him at least a bit more able to take a dragon.
Overall, use Oscar for offence over him and Silas on defence. Mixed phase with a skill like Fury could work out, but overall using him over the others is something only for people who like his character/longcoat more
Role: Offence/Physical duelist
Rating 3/5
Budget: low
-Sully
Where to start? Her spd is nice I guess. But that’s about it.
Terrible atk and def, with res not being on the level of Jagen or Mathilda.
With IV’s you might give her good mixed bulk or offence, never anything on the level of some other units.
So not fully unusable, but you should only bother if you like her character.
Role: Mixed Duelist (?)
Rating: 1.5/5
Budget: Medium-high

Overal rankings (*=utility)
Silas (4/5)
Oscar (3,5/5)
Abel - Peri - Roderick (3/5)
Mathilda* (2,5/5)
Jagen* (2/5)
Sully (1,5/5)

I would say that Sully might be a bit better for that role, the sapphire lance compensates for the low atk, so it makes her better for fighting/baiting red dragons and mages.
But overall, I don't really like that weapon. It not only paints a big target one ones back, it also has just 12 mt.

Nice write up! I like the idea for the series. Maybe lance fliers next?
And honestly, even though lance cavaliers aren't all that amazing in general, I think it's worth building at least one. One distinct advantage they have over Rein is Galeforce, which is especially useful in AR. I've built a firesweep Oscar but I'm thinking of switching to a slaying lance set.
