Laegjarn is simple and good

Just something I wanna say about her stats.
A while ago I was defending Subaki, with the argument that the speed allows Subaki to take hits some slower tanks with more def can't.
Especially with specials. Subaki doesn't need to worry about those that much.

Now compared to Subaki, Leagjarn trades the passable res for a fine atk stat. She can't be build as mixed tank like Subaki can but her Bonfire his are going to kill most of the time.

As for builds, I would focus on the enemy phase. Her spd is best used as a defence tool. A quick riptose and defence skills will work best.

Close def and stance skills might work out better than bonds. If possible she might make use out of a solo skill (atk/def or atk/spd) but that's usually not in anyones budget.

For a weapon I'd start off by saying it's a shame the lance safeguard isn't a thing. But a simple Slaying lance will work wonders for her bonfire bombs.
But Tannenboom! might accually be her best bet. Even if it looks horrible. The allround stats can work in her favor, atk/spd/def are all stats you will use. If using a close def, then then that with the +2 res might help her survive a dragon hit.

Her normal lance is fine for budget, but I fear it's better suited on a unit like Original Azura. Seriously, all these new weapons scream 'use on a dancer'

Sure baiting with cavaliers seems like a waste of movement, but do not underestimate the power of being able to GTFO when needed and getting in just the right range.

Also, she wears a hakama and has a fur collar. So that's neat. I haven't seen her sprite, but I hope she sits on a horse the proper way.

Poor Finn though. The two aren't miles apart, but it's clear Leagy is the winner

“poor Finn though“
Yeah I feel that. Though I won't give up on building him up
But yeah, I agree. I am interested to play around with her. Her weapon especially seems very intriguing.

Well at least Finn isn't Clive. Finn's still usable, just not the best.

I feel that weapon is great. On another unit.
A unit that doesn't need to fight. You can use it on a azura to run dual chills.

Her base kit suggests a support role, not sure if that's what's best for her, but I like it.

I think I'll end up giving her a budget set with a new assist, bonfire or moonbow, some A skill, and Res Tactic seal. That could change, though.

Yeah, on a budget she's a great character for people to have because she's an easy to use support/red check

But with investment she challanges Silas and Quan as best lance cav tank.
I'd say Quan has more damage potential and Silas can go for more mixed bulk or damage depending on build.
