I recently pulled a 5-star Fae that's Atk+/HP-, but I also have a 4-star of the same IV. I've spent time raising up the 5-star, but after going through the Merging Allies guide I'm thinking it was a waste of time.
Should I merge the 5-star into the 4-star to not only keep the skills I placed into the 5-star but also give the merge bonus level and 80 SP, or just keep the 5-star?
I also have an extra Lute and Rhajat with less than stellar IVs. Should I fodder them for their skills or merge them with the slightly superior ones?
I wouldn't merge her into the 4 star one unless you have 4 more Fae in addition to the ones you have. 4 star merge doesn't become the same as a 5 star +0 until the 4 star is at +5. So if you don't yet have that many Fae, keep the 5 star one until you do. In regards to Rhajat and Lute. Lute I would merge but Rhajat has Distant Defense which is an incredibly valuable skill that also happens to be good on lot of units, so I would probably fodder her for that.
I got three more Fae since I foddered one of them earlier to give Masked Lucina Renewal 3 for the psuedo-healer build, so I'll hold off until I can get more when I try to snipe for green units again(really wanted a Atk+/Def- Rhajat, but best I got is the oxymoron HP+/Def- due to the other one being Atk-/Res+).
As for Lute, isn't Res Ploy 3 needed for other units?
