Is Julius worth 5*ing?

Just as the question above says, is he worth it? I have the feathers, I just don't know if he is all that good...
Also, how does guard work? Does it make it so that the enemy doesn't gain special charges if the unit's HP is greater than 80%?

Any help is welcome and appreciated!

I mean do you need a mage tank? Or just really like Genealogy? Because I feel if either of those answers are yes then he'd be worth promoting. If not, then maybe wait on him. I don't know if this helped. as I'm usually unsure what I should use my feathers on myself.

It helped a lot actually, I don't really have much of an opinion on GotHW as I have yet to play it ( going to see if I can emulate it some time). However I don't really need a mage tank, so I will pass for a bit.

Depends on what red units you currently have, if you have Lucina, Ayra, Celica or Zelgius and stuff I wouldn’t waste my time but if you desperately need a good red magic tank to counter units like Reinhardt, Linde or Delthea then I’d consider 5*-ing him (however his limited merged hurts him a lot, I have a +2 Julius (Took me little effort to beat the battles with a +10 team.)) So if you’re not facing many merged enemies and happen to want an unusual unit for its colour then Julius is great!

Personnally, I 5* him. Just because he is 35 res base stat red mage. And I love his weapon animation :D (and after I'm crying because I have not enought feathers x'D).
These days, I burned my feathers with some random 5*ing (Saias, Kaze, Flier Shigure who was 4*, Blue Kana ...). I just don't care about +10 units and I'm tired to build every single unit, so I promote free GHB unit for fun. And I enjoy playing with.
But for your question, if you don't need him, he's not necessary :)
