Is it ever worth building two copies of a unit?

I've got a bunch of Masked Marths sitting in my Barracks, because I haven't known what to do with them. Is there any point in building two copies of her, or is it just better to merge them all together?

There are several reasons to build multiple copies:
- dancers, except probably without building each copy fully.
- troll teams (ex: ever run into multiple Reinhardt or multiple B.Lyn in the same arena team?) It's on the disgusting side but probably an effective tactic, just try to overload the unit designed to deal with that threat
- if you're AA competitive, different blessings on budget builds. I wouldn't want to spend my blessings just for some points, but some would. Something like axebreaker base kit Seth is super cheap to build and probably crushes Hector with a moonbow. You could keep 2-3 copies with different blessings and just use the one that fits the season.
- other AA tactic: different builds. For example, you might have one MM using renewal+ reciprocal aid + death blow just to be a supportive unit whenever you see a team with a single manakete andva more combat-focused MM that you pull out instead if you see a team full of dragons. Keep in mind you only get to use one of the two in any AA run.

That's pretty much it. Here's two more reasons:
- The new Blessed Gardens mode sounds like Squad Assault, but with blessings. It would be nice to have generically useful units available in more than one element.
- If you use the unit for HM farming, a second copy saves you from having to swap out skills so often. Legendary Ike comes to mind here.
For the most part, you're better off merging or foddering. I would probably only build up a second copy if the unit wasn't useful for either of those. Azura comes to mind.

It really depends on what unit it is, if it's ever worth running 2 or more of the same units on the same team. With Masked Marth I recommend merging instead of building multiple sets for her.
