Is it dumb that I'm not summoning for powerhouses?

I did try for roughly 270 orbs on the Legendary Banner and didn't get Hrid or Laevatein (I did get Legendary Lucina). I also did a little summoning and got Laegjarn and plan to use her as a unit since her IVs are decent. However, I'm not summoning on the Legendary Banner or any of the current banners anymore for two things: the next Legendary Banner (for Legendary Marth and Summer Camilla) and Winter's Envoy rerun (I only want Winter Robin because he's my second favorite FE character and failed to get this version both times). Yes, I'm choosing those characters over the current powerhouses that are Surtr and Ylgr and stopping on the Legendary Banner (although there are only four characters I want; 2 red, 1 green and 1 colorless).

Laegjarn is great! She's easily my favorite OC character.

I don't summon for power houses either, I summon units I think could be fun, or because I like the character. I only use two armored units (Henry and Ephraim) and I avoided the recent Legendary banner AND Surtr's banner (one full summon session and free summon respectively).

If I only went for powercreep, then I'd never have any fun.

Best way to play the game.

Summon for who you like, not who's strong.

Hrid is a strong cav, but if I ever get him he's DC fodder.

Summoning for who you want is part of the enjoyment of this game. Unless Arena is a big deal to you than just summon for whomever piques your interest you'll enjoy the game more that way.
