I have recently been trying to get L!Roy. I didn't end up with him, but I did get two Hrids, which I merged together, having -Spd and +Def for IVs.
The Hrid page suggests a special like Blue Flame or Aether, the latter of which seems impossible for a newb like me and the former of which I can only put on Hrid through giving up my (also decent IVs) Owain.
Herein lies the question. Is giving up an Owain with good potential worth it to give the merged 5* legendary a special he would slay with?
In my (Very VERY bias) opinion, no. Because Owain is a very good Bond skill user and will most likely help you in milti-map battles. But if you’re going to do that, then inherit Bonfite from another character first and then inherit Blue Flame + Wrath 3 when the 4 skill inheritance update drops
Two things to understand about the tier list and recommended builds on GamePress:
1) They are usually based on the optimal skills, regardless of rarity or cost.
2) Many of the recommended builds are for max arena scoring potential, which is not always optimal for performance otherwise. (Blue Flame, and Aether are both high-scoring specials.)
For arena, Hrid's score isn't optimal because of cavalry penalties. For general use, Bonfire or Ignis will be great on him.
