Infantry Tanks

Infantry is my favorite movement type, but I find that most of them are quite squishy. Who are your tanks for your infantry team?
(Other than any of the Ike’s)

First thing that comes to mind is Lukas and Nephenee.

yeah. Nephenee and Marisa for me...completely forgot about them, lol. I really like Spd+Def.

Libra, in a way.

40 HP/28 Def/29 Res doesn't make waves in it's own right, but people have pointed out that, despite his "balanced" statspread, he uses his stats well. That's something I've come to realised by taking a good look at other variables like the mix of his Spd & Res as well as Def. And for whatever it's worth, he has access to Handbell and stuff (favourite weapon).

Chrom, Dorcas, and Linus are my main infantry tanks since you're discounting Ike (and I assume dragons don't count either).

In addition to all the Lukas that have been mentioned, Roy makes a great tank, Fir makes a great resistance tank. Also Hawkeye and Sophia are incredibly good tanks if you build them right.

I am a little surprised no one has mentioned Seliph yet, no Seliph builds out there?

I made a Seliph with safeguard, steady stance, qr, and the close def seal since I had a Lene collecting dust after Marth's banner. Gets the job done just fine.

I find a lot of them to be tanky actually. Gordin (def), Lukas (def), Micaiah (res), Roy (both), Deirdre (res). These are the only one's I've run but there are tons more.

My +10 Eirika has 35+ def and res and 41 spd so she doesn’t get doubled

I used to use Shiro a lot but his -def bane really started to show in some matchups. Since he's +spd I slapped Fury and Vantage on him for a more aggressive build, he's pretty fun.

Alfonse, on the other hand, is amazingly durable. With double brazen, he can tank even Effies.

I don't use him, but Hinata can reach some scary defense numbers. If not for the Fury fodder, I'd build one.

Chrom with guard and his refined Falchion is borderline unkillable. I run him with brazen atk/Def and cc3 seal.

I'm shocked that we got this far and nobody has named a single manakete. Dragons are some of my favourite tanks because they hit people's res (or just lower defensive stat if they're ranged). Nowi, Fae, A.Tiki, or if you don't care about merges, M.Kana, Y.Tiki, F.Kana.

Some mentioned Roy, and I think he's probably my favourite non-manakete infantry tank. Selena is also quite good.

Then there's stuff like double brazen Alfonse, Bartre, Oliver, Julius, M.Robin...

Lukas as your melee tank will fit the bill quite well, and Kaze and Felicia are good picks if you don't have a Flora or you have the feathers to start merging.

Nephenee, F!Corrin and Dorcas are my main tanks not named Hector or Ike.
