Indecision on upgrading

Farming some HM i reached 20k feathers. And since i always have someone to upgrade, i use them right away. And as always i have a problem deciding who to upgrade. I have people i want up cause i like them, others for foddering, and others still for merges. Now here are the Heroes i want to bring up for each decision.

Catalog/Preference:
+Atk -Spd Cherche. She still needs a Brave Axe+ but she's plenty strong from what i've heard
+Atk -HP Corrin (F). A good dragon to have and a nice addition for my Dragon Emblem
+Spd -Res Morgan. An offensive red mage that can be very poweful. Also he's my son, shut it.
Narcian. Just cause i'm actually curious on how i can make him viable
+Atk -Res Setsuna. Brave Bow+ LnD3. I've said enough

Fodder:
Athena for Wo Dao+. I mean yeah, it's a pretty good weapon and i have a slight idea on who should get it (Mainly either a Hana or my +Def -HP NY!Camilla)
Chrom for Aether. Mainly for arena scoring. And i was gonna give it to either F!Celica (She already has Luna) or Fae (She has Sol).
Kana (M) for Brazen Def/Res. He never really interested me, but his skill is kind of useful. Especially if i use it to make an almost unkillable tank out of who i'm gonna give it to (Berkut +2)
Klein for Brave Bow +. Setsuna. I've said enough

Merge:
Masked Marth. She's already +3, and i have two ready to bring her up to +5 asap.
Xander. A very strong Cav unit that i like to use when possible.
Caeda. I already have a 5* Caeda but her IVs are kind of... bad (+Def -HP). I have a +Atk -Def one at 4* that i can bring up and have the bad iv one merged to the one that will be upgraded.
Tiki (A), Mathilda, Merric, Nino and Klein. Same story as Caeda. Bad 5* one, gonna merge it to a better one.
Reinhardt. Do i really need to explain?
Felicia. Why not? She's a pretty powerful unit.
Maria. Well, merging a healer up gives more strength to their healing abilities

So... who should i bring up today

I can't really give you an objectively good answer, because it's your game and you have your own priorities while playing it.

If I was in this situation, I would put fodder on the last place, catalog in the second place and merging in the first place, and out of the merges I'd choose Felicia, because she's godlike.

In the end it's not really a hugely meaningful decision, so just go with the first thing that comes to your mind, that you think you'll get the biggest enjoyment from.

Seconded. Merge projects generally get first priority unless you already have an AA starting team you're satisfied with, in which case I suggest building more different units unless you want to get going on another merge project

I'mma tell you what i tell everyone: Don't use your feathers until you have 220k, because for all you know, in the time it takes you to get that many feathers, you could figure out exactly what you need.

Just upgrading a unit "because you can" is the dumbest thing people do, its like throwing your wallet into a well, just because you can, doesnt mean you should.

I agree with you, but it depends on what are his objectives if it's only to have some fun there's no problem in not being intelligent at managing the resources. Since he hasn't upgraded Xander yet I assume he is somewhat new to the game, with all the stuff we know now I suggest to think about the future of the game so starting high merging units you like is the best you can do so save!

No, i'm a player since launch and i have a 5* Xander. The others are for merging

I upgrade the units if I happen to like that particular unit temporary then permanently put them aside to amass dust lmao

I cast my vote for +10 merge too!

But let's just run through the list so that you can have a humble second opinion ~

Cherche: Nope, just wait till you stumble upon a 5*.
Corrin(F): 'A good dragon to have' - No. You didn't sound very enthusiastic :P
Morgan: Yes!!! But not yet - your son deserves a +10 merge. Pile them up!
Narcian: Curiosity doesn't justify slurging 20k feathers.
Setsuna: Hm no, unless merging to +10.

Athena for WoDao+: Nope. I would just wait for a 5* to sprout out one fine day.
Chrom for Aether: Fair choice, worth spending if plugging into a +10 arena unit :)
Kana(M): Hm. Imo this isn't as much a 'must-have' as Aether, so I'd nudge this to the bottom of the list...
Klein: Not really, unless you're merging Setsuna to +10.

Masked Marth +5: Reasonable choice, resides below +10 merge on the waiting list. If only you had 2 more for a +7, I would totally prioritise her over other +10 merges.
Xander: I wouldn't. Still takes a fair bit of investment after promotion, and besides Red Cavalry are just... everywhere ._.
Caeda: Sure, only if merging +10. Caeda is rather frail pre-merge. You're probably sick of hearing '+10' by now :D
Mathilda, Merric, Klein: Yep if merging +10. Nope if just merging into a better one at like +1 or +2.
Tiki(A), Nino: Yep if merging perfect IV, though not a priority unless +10.
Reinhardt: If you do not yet own a 5* ATK boon, but happen to possess a 4* +ATK... no questions asked, yes!
Felicia: Fun! But again, only if +10. She's as fragile as Caeda ><
Maria: Only if you like her. Maria's stat spread doesn't make her a very popular healer ._.
