If you could put desperation on your weapon, what B-skill would you want?
Because as you probably know already, this is now a thing. At first I was really excited, and then I realized that slaying weapon + desperation is probably deadlier on player phase. If you're using flashing/heavy blade, that would enable 3CD specials to fire on every double even in desperation. So I'm looking for justifications, if you will, for desperation weapons.
List of skills to consider:
- Vantage
- Cancel affinity, as suggested by the base kit of S.Linde
- Breakers (juicy wave + swordbreaker might be especially good)
- Def/res link
- Feint skills
- Chill skill (which is probably best on a support unit, which your dagger might be)
- QR (counterintuitive, but anybody who plays anti-mages such as Felicia knows that mages can get too fast to double naturally, making QR very helpful)
- Wings of mercy / escape route. (I play Sothe with escape route for lack of desperation fodder. He's ridiculous in grand conquests - one hit, and he's all over the map debuffing people, sniping squishy mages or damaged units, positioning teammates)
- Flier formation / aerobatics
- Maybe guard, if you have good def and don't want armours to vengeful ignis/aether you back? Should probably just use smoke dagger + windsweep
- wrath, if we get melee weapons with desperation

(The typical savage vantage, except with an extra trick up its sleeve - he'll also attack you like a regular desperation dagger.)

Wrath, easily.
Chills are better for more support oriented units, or ones who don't have a particular B skill they want like Sanaki or Reinhardt.
WoM or Escape Route could be neat options, Breakers may help namely if the unit in question is red or blue and has to deal with the faster swords in the game
Cancel Affinity is only really good for colorless units even then it is specific, Flier Formation and Aerobatics are neat but not too necessary
Finally Feints and Link skills are extremely stupid and gimmicky; don't even consider them.
It's honestly a good thing these upcoming summer weapons are all ranged, they would break the game if they were swords lances or axes due to everyone taking them and Wrath.
Brash Assault is worth a mention due to the synergy.
