Idea for a new system in FeH
So hear me out. I don't know if anyone else has had this idea but as far as I'm concerned I came up with it. In FeH, you can spend 20,000 feathers to promote a 4* unit to 5* and if you have a 4* that is merged (+1->+10) and you promote it, you lose said merges. I think there should be a system where if you have the feathers needed, you can keep the merge. I.E: say I have a 4* Mae that's +7 and I wanted to 5* her, 1 promotion would be 20,000 feathers, but since she is +7, (7 x 20,000=140,000 + 20,000 = 160,000) If I had 160,000 feathers, I could 5 star her AND keep the merges. basically stating that you spend 20,000 feathers for every merge (plus 20,000 for the original unit being 5*'ed) just a thought, opinion are welcomed

I might be on the minority here, but I personally don't like this idea now.
before, yes, it was nice, because people who whale a lot will have space problem in their barracks, because of the 1100 limit.
but now we got the manuals, so if you actually plan to maximise your character, you shouldn't merge at 4 star.
it's actually your own risk to do a 4* merge nowadays.

that will be a problem, but well what can you do ?
It's like money deflation.
lets say a pancake cost 2 dollars in 2000. then in 2010 pancake suddenly cost 1dollar, do you actually complain to the seller, asking them to give your money back because you bought the pancake when it was 2 dollars ?

It was more going along the lines of why you disagree. You said you would've been fine with it BEFORE, but because we have manuals, you're against it (not even sure what manuals have anything to do with this anyway, but sure).
And even then, all this is doing is taking your merged unit and spending the correct amount of feathers to get it to the correct 5* merged unit. This literally has nothing to do with manuals.

yeah before manuals, I know people have problem with their barracks capacity.
which is more or less fixed if you sent them home, but why sent them home if you can make a 4* version work ?
that is when 4* merging was a good idea, imo.
but now, there is no reason to do a 4* merge, aside if you only want to use that unit now, without planning ahead what are you going to do with them in the future.
and that's what I don't like. I prefer people to actually have their goal set, if they want to do a 4* merge then they need to take the risk of losing the said unit.

I guess? I prefer people having chances of changing their mind and not being locked to just one plan, so I'm all for this. If people don't need to do it then fine, but there's really no reason why this could be considered a bad idea aside from you preferring people having your mind set of having, and sticking to, a set plan.

well I am not really against it.
If they implement this, then I would be happy too, so I can just merge every single 4* that I have, and spare my feathers. and whenever I want them to be in their max potential, I'll just promote them.
as nice as it seems, I prefer the game to be based on your vision on using your resources. expecially now there is no maxed capacity on your barracks due to manuals.
Like if you plan on using X unit in the future, then you shouldnt gimp them by merging at 4*, or you can do that, but you need to know the price for it, which is losing 10 of the same unit.
