I think there is a glitch with Def Tactic

I’ve been doing tempest trials and the Melee training map and I just now noticed that the only units that have been receiving the +6 defense buff from Def Tactic are fliers and armored units. I’ve made sure that infantry units are standing exactly 2 spaces away but they still don’t receive the buff. I want to make sure that i’m not misunderstanding the description or if this is a legitimate glitch that IS has been unnoticed. Thanks for any feedback.

if you have 2 infantry units and 2 others, then it'll work, if you use 3 and 1, it won't unless the one has a tactic. I'm currently running a tri-tactic with a 2 and 2 infantry horse team. if it also helps, the one using the tactic won't get the buffs.

You need at most 2 units of each movement type in your team. 2 fliers, 2 infantry, 2 cavalry, 2 armors. With those, you can make combinations for it to work. For example:
-one flier, one infantry, one armor, one cavalier
-2 fliers, 2 armors
-2 armors, 2 infantry
-2 cavaliers, 1 flier, 1 infantry etc.
The team options are endless. The rule is that you cannot have 3 of one movement type in the same team. So if you have 3 intantry and 1 flier for example, it will not work

I just tested this in Melee training map with V!Ike, Sigurd, Alm, and B!Roy, and it worked. You can't have more than 2 units of one movement type.

For example, you can't have V!Ike, Alm, Nowi, and Faye in the same team if you want Def Tactic to proc, because you have more than 2 units with the same movement type.

-Infantry
-Flier
-Armored
-Cavalry

You can't have more than 2 of those types or else the buff will not apply to said units.
