I Sense A Change...

Yet another banner we got where nobody got demoted, and pretty sure Ylgr and Surtr won't get demoted either. I sense a change coming soon...

I think they might demote all the current 5 star exclusive units who have been around since the start of the game, up to the cutoff point they did last time with the summon pool refine (which was right up to the banner directly before the Genealogy banner with Sigurd and Deirdre). For reference, here is the full list:

Anyone else think this is what they could do? There's 41 units in total, which was about the same as they did last time (in fact, I want to say less because I believe they said 49 units got the 3-4 star demotion last summon pool refine, so maybe if they want to go further, they could throw in units like Tailtiu, Sothe, and Male Morgan who were the next few shortly after Sigurd and Deirdre's banner), so it matches with the amount they demoted last time. Anyone else think this is a possibility that's gonna happen?

It would be kinda broken though, getting 4-star Takumi and Hector for their counters

We got a 4 star Takumi for free. Close Counter (and Distant Counter, by extension) are locked to 5 star, so you're still dropping 20k feathers just for one skill. Also, have you seen the broken units we've gotten recently? I don't think making Takumi and Hector easier to summon for is gonna break the game in half when Surtr's gonna do a good job of that by himself.

Agreed. Also, look at the number of units who have CC/DC built into their weapon. At least the DC/CC skill takes up a skill slot. And there are only those two units who have them (or would have them at 4-star if this happened), so it's not like people would have some huge stockpile of DC/CC fodder.

It would make sense if they finally add the skill forge/a way to purchase skill scrolls

I can't see that.
Alm is way to good to get demoted.

I do hope they do this. The pool of units that are both 4 and 5* isn't that high.
But if they do it, I wonder how they'll do it.

My idea, to freshen up both the 4 and 3* pools, is to demote a bunch of units to the 4* pool, and have some 4-3* units be 3* only.
Because the 4* pool is already way too big.

As for the units listed, I think some might stay 5* anyway:
-The 4 brave heroes
-Alm (too strong refine)
-Elincia
-Saber (too strong refine)
-Tana
-Hector (DC)
-Elise (I think she'll get a refine instead)
-Innes

Also it should be clear that they won't demote any newer characters.
So I'd say only units from before 2.0 will have a chance at demotion

i think celica will stay as 5 too. coz her refine is one of the best

It really is about time they did this. I would love to be able to merge some old units as 4* and 5*. I'd hope they will do some with V3.0 but I doubt it'll be all you've listed, I just want 4* Leo with QR3, so many units need it. Should also get things like Guard 3, Drive Atk, all the ploys and tactics in the 4* pool.

I don't see Alm, celica, elinsia, ike, broy, blucina, nephenie, amelia, hector, bike, genny, blyn, and takumi getting demoted.
they are so powerful, that everybody wants them because of fodder, or because they are popular.

if they do though, there will be a lot of DC/CC, wrath, Armor march, wrath dazzling, breath, etc in stuff like arena, AR, AA, and GC.

Ok, whale. Keep complaining about the whales who already have all that and not the F2P players who dream of having these units, but don't because they don't buy orbs. Glad you don't want to support everyone having access to these units. Also, glad you act like the broken skills would be their 4 star skills, when you know for certain (need I remind you we got a FREE Takumi?) that those skills will be 5 star locked, meaning you're dropping 20k feathers every time you want them, meaning that's one less merge for your merge projects.

But sure. Let the whales still have the advantage over the F2P players.

It's not about whale or not, it's about supply and demand.
I am not sure if IS play their own game or not, but if they do, they most likely know that stuff like alm/celica/bike/hector/etc is so good to be a 4* unit.

their skill locked to 5* ? then promote them, yes feather is hard to come by, but if you have the unit, you have access to them.
you see that galeforce and aether ?
they are locked to 5* too, but they are quite easy to get.
I played for like 4 months already, I only summoned on 4 banners so far, Bephraim banner, Lmarth banner, Ltiki banner, and Leirika banner.
and I have like 8 galeforce, and 5 aether fodders.

and yes, of course whale will have advantage over F2P.
this is not the kind of game which sells cosmetics.
it sells you units, why would you think that F2P player should have the same power as whale ?

Most likely many of those listed will not get demoted. Eldigan, Gray, Karel, Lucina, Leo, Luke, Lyn, saber, Tiki Young, Azura, Hinoka, Linde, Olwen, Tana, Minerva, Elise, Faye, Genny, Jaffar, and Mist are most likely of those you listed

Oh and also make a ton of units that are 4 to 5 star exclusive be 3 to 4 star exclusive units
