I believe weapon durability should be brought to heroes.

Add in weapon durability.
Use arena medals to buy replacement weapons.
Keep refining stones as they are now.
Allow for weapon swapping at the cost of a units movement for that turn.

Seems interesting, but a few questions:
What about legendary weapons? Will they have durability or not? How would you replace them if they did?
Also, new players won't have access to arena medals right at the beginning of the game. How would you solve that? Same problem for someone that (somehow) runs out of arena medals?
What would this bring to the game? Weapon swapping is cool, but what problems does it solve?

PRF weapons would just not have durability, just the way they've been in most FE games.
With PRF's being unbreakable,t here would always be a method ot getting arena medals, not only that, but inheritance wouldn't change, weapon buying would just be an alternative.
It would bring better tactics to the game due to actually having to think about what you do instead of parking something in a spot and letting them do all the work, along with giving players the ability to use inherited weapons that they normally wouldn't use due to not always knowing what theyre going to face. For example, fighting a team of armors in the arena, and being able to change out soleils slaying edge for an armor smasher, thereby making weapons inherited as skills not totally useless.

Also, would you permanently lose weapons that broke? If so, what would happen to the weapons exclusive to 5*, like Safeguard, or any seasonal weapons, if they did? I feel like if they broke permanently there would be much less incentive to spend for weapon fodder, especially if they also kept the refining system.

Also, if you could swap weapons, it seems to me like you should also be able to swap skills as well. What happens in the case of Galeforce, or a dancer? How would those affect it? These are neat ideas, but I'm a bit skeptical since I don't see how it would fit into the game, though.

Buying special weapons with arena medals whenever the units in particular are on a banner, easy solution.

As far as i'm aware, there as never been a game where you can change out skills mid combat. Doesn't make sense to start it now.

So, again, that would lead to people not pulling on the banners as much, so I don't think that's something IS would do. I specifically pulled for NY!Camilla for Kadomatsu for Olivia. If I could have just given her the weapon for what essentially amounts to 'for free' then why should I bother trying to pull that character?

And for your second point, this is the only FE game that I'm aware of where skills play this important a role, in addition to weapons that act more like those skills themselves. Most weapons in the mainline games were a lot less necessary for a unit than they are here. There wasn't much difference between the silver weapons and something like a Killing Edge, in most cases. Since they were expendable, they had to take the power out of the weapons to facilitate that mechanic. The usefulness of the unit was more in it's stats than it is here, whereas in FEH it relies a lot more on skills. Different game balance, I don't think it would work so well just swapping weapons without nerfing the weapons more. Again, it'd be too easy to just swap between Armorslayer and Firesweep and make it super easy. The effects of the weapons are too strong in this game, I feel.

Because ward fliers and spd/def bond.

The only thing thats really different at all is that most of the time maps are less than a couple minutes long with less time investment compared to full series game where you can take upwards of an hour to get a chapter done.

Swapping weapons on the fly would give players more options to deal with more situations instead of trying to use a "catch-all" weapon for every single situation theyre presented with and helps alleviate stagnation.

I can’t see how this is a good thing. It’s just an unnecessary addition to the game, especially due to the nature of the game. (A casual, mobile gacha where you will inevitably be grinding). This would just make the game a pain to play.

The weapon swap thing doesn’t sound great either. I feel like it could be used to trivialze certain content, and break the meta in two.

I can't really see this being that good of an idea either. Using a turn to swap your Slaying Edge to an Armorsmasher in Arena sounds kinda broken. Sure, it'd be cool if there was a game-mode or something that allowed this, but overall it doesn't sound too appealing to me.

Report

Sounds nice, but it would force arena on some players that dont want to deal with that feature just to get medals to repair weapons which breaks the fact that you have to have a weapon just to get medals in the first place. So if a weapon breaks and you have no medels then what.........
