Hypothetical Triangle Adept and Cancel Affinity

So, as we all know, Cancel Affinity only cancels an enemy's triangle adept or gem weapon if it helps the unit with Cancel Affinity. Would Cancel Affinity cancel Triangle Adept if a unit had both and they were against their color weakness? If so, then wouldn't that nullify all of that unit's weaknesses save move type? Would that be broken on bulky DC units? Discuss

Hey pol,
I agree that that would be extremely strong; however, reading the description for 'Cancel Affinity', I believe that it nullifies the unit's 'Triangle Adept' as well (the unit that holds Triangle Adept and Cancel Affinity).

"Any weapon triangle affinity granted by unit's skills is negated."
(Taken from the Cancel Affinity page's description)
-I believe the key word is "Any" as the description doesn't specific if it is friend or foe that is affected. It states "unit" only.

So in summary, running 'Cancel Affinity' and 'Triangle Adept' would not be efficient since 'Cancel Affinity' should cancel out the unit's own A- Skill.

The reason I think that this combo could work is because if your unit has Cancel Affinity and the other has triangle adept, and you have the triangle advantage, Cancel Affinity does nothing, which suggests that the skill will never manipulate the triangle to be disadvantageous for the unit.
