How to not waste Distant Counter?

I pulled a spare Hector with my free summon a few weeks ago (Hp+, def -), and am considering feeding him to someone for DD. At the minute, I believe my best candidate to be my Michalis, who I frequently use on my flier team, which has really just become my main team. I use Iote's Shield to bait archers, but that could probably be easily worked around. Furthermore, I worry a bit about obtaining a decent Minerva and kicking him to the curb, and I really don't want to waste a Distant Counter. So is it worth it, is there a build he has that would better suit DD, or should I not bother at all?

I would consider saving it. I pulled a couple of LA!Hector a while ago and put one DC on Zephiel (great choice btw) and one on Gerome to make him a Reinhardt/Bladetome Cav counter. In retrospect I wish I would've kept that DC for someone like Karla, Tiki, Myrrh or an armored unit instead. I think Effie, Gwendolyn, and Sheena are great options if you're looking for a longterm project, but ultimately it's up to you!

I would recommend you do not put DV on Limited units if you care about arena score since merges are limited.

Save it and put it on a 5*+10 merge project do you can maximize your arena weight

Michalis is a very bad user of DC since he has low res and spd which could lead him to get killed even from blue mages in some cases

You could put DC on Michalis and give him Iote’s Shield instead of Close Defense if you have no use for Close Def and no one is using Iote’s Shield seal. If you don’t have that Minerva yet, I suggest doing it, as Minerva is 5 star exclusive, I haven’t gotten her yet, and I’ve been playing since Day 1.

Michalis is better of as a flying wall, DC would not run the best on him.

In my opinion there are three types of units that can use DC well:

High res melee units; Fir, Eliwood, Lloyd (if you got enough to merge), Titania, Libra if he's demoted. Sigurd would work as well.
Normal Roy could be a pretty nice enemy phase unit with his refine.

Units with amazing attack/easy specials for vantage abuse; Hector is one of these, Sword Reinhardt, Ares, maybe Soleil.

Dragons with a special breath, normally you'd use lightning breath, but on Myrrh or any Tiki, it might be better to use DC with their own breath.

Just make sure to think it over, you don't want to waste this skill. Don't be afraid to ask this question again if you have some canidates.
