How many is too many?

So I've been playing this game since launch. I've spent my fair share of money, in no way whaling but not f2p either, and I've amassed a pretty nice amount of 5*s, at 145 unique units. However, out of these 145, only the 30 or so strongest get used for everything. At that point, is it worth sacrificing some of the (not exclusive) mid or low tier units to improve the high tiers, or is keeping them around in case they get stronger/a new skill comes out better?

Specifically, I just summoned halloween myrrh, and I have exactly 1 brave ephraim for special fighter and 1 basic hector for dc. They both have almost perfect IVs, but they struggle to find spots on my teams over legendary hector, male grima, and christmas chrom/lissa. Is it worth killing them to buff my only red armor dragon?

(Sorry for being so wordy, thanks in advance for the replies)

Worth. They will find much more value being eaten by Myrrh than they would ever find on the bench. Also, I was F2P until this banner. But IS deserved my money for Myrrh.

Personally I would say definantly fodder off normal Hector. He is good but pales in comparission to L!Hector or B!Hector. As for Ephraim I think you ment brave ephraim, in whivh case I don't know much about him, but if you already gave the special figther to the Legendary version I would say keep that one because he is good for Horse Embelm teams.

Sac Hector, keep B!Ephraim. I think her best fighter would probably end up being the one she has or bold anyway. She has adaptive damage and a high attack stat. You don't really need guard.

She's good regardless, but let's not kid ourselves here. Special Fighter + QR outweighs her other options by giving double special charge on everything (literally everything) plus adding hugely to tankiness with guard.

It's just a different allocation of resources. Moving her to enemy phase only with VF opens up your seal slot to be used for anything else to boost her resistence making her better at mixed tanking. She already comes with VF which works great on her so using that fodder on her instead of another armor unit would be a waste,

That makes sense. I guess it's just I only ever find use for guard in arena anyway where everyone is trying to special scum you. I find it odd that all of her builds on her page really only suggest builds in context of that. Especially since she's seasonal.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, roughly speaking. I haven't whaled, the only +10 I have is M!Robin, though I am getting close on a couple others.

My general method of deciding whether or not to fodder someone depends more on the unit that I'm foddering to. For example, I sacked both my only Neph (Atk/Spd 2) and my only Kat (Atk Ploy) to Genny. Since she's my only summoner supported unit, ever, and carries me through pretty close to every mode I've encountered, I think it was really worth it. I also foddered my only copy of NY!Camilla to Olivia for Kadomatsu+. And I have not regretted either of those decisions. Sure, I'd like more Nephs and NY!Camillas and Kats, but I am glad I foddered those to my favorites. It made them even more awesome and amazing.

I know, right? But it was worth it, imo. I inherited Atk/Spd 2, which I get more use out of than any other comparable A slot, tbh. It's better than any of the +3 stat skills, she doesn't get into Brazen range since she has wrazzle-dazzle Grav+ and a dancer to back her up, Push is a one-and-done deal since I don't run Live to Serve as her seal and it doesn't work with Martyr+, and Bond doesn't activate enough. Having that +2 speed and attack is really useful. Like I said, it was a worthy sacrifice for my best unit.

I would definitely fodder Hector, partly because personally I hate his art, and partly because there are other Hectors who are better now. I probably wouldn't fodder the other, but for me it depends a lot on how much I like them/their art and less on how useful they are as a unit. If I like the character but they're not useful, I'm just keeping them around and hoping to one day be able to merge/build them into something stronger (like my male Robin and Ryoma).
