How many people are saving orbs for Distant Counter and what will you be using DC for?

I'm just curious what builds people are going to make with Distant Counter because... idk what else are we going to talk about?

I am. Finally gonna get DC for my +atk -hp Lucina after the longest time. Currently saved up 153 orbs, and I'm hoping to still have some left for the CYL banner. I'm planning on running her with:
Falchion (Spectrum Bond Refine)
Reposition
Aether
A: Distant Counter
B: Wrath
C: Hone Atk 3 / Hone Spd 3
Seal: Heavy Blade

Guess I can finally stop relying on my L!Ike so much, lol

Saving orbs? Yes.
For Distant Counter? No.

I have 2 Hector's (one original and one LA) that I don't plan on ever using in the future, so if I'm in desperate need for Distant Counter, then I can just fodder them off. Not really sure what I'd use them on, though. I don't use Armored units except H!Henry...

Too bad I can't trade the 2 Hector's for 2 Takumi's. So much I can do with Close Counter. xD

I'd love to trade away the free Takumi we got for a Hector, I just want DC for Fir but like with Wrath I think the game knows that's what I want most so it doesn't happen. Just like summoning for Fir alludes me causing a vicious cycle of having to keep summoning on red just to try and get Fir.

I'd love to give my 5*+5 Fir DC, although I feel like Hector will continue to not show up just to spite my attempts to give Fir DC. Just like Karla is alluding me from SF banner, Fir just wants Wrath from her mom.

I currently have 8 or 9 Firs (and a Nephenee available), so she's my leading candidate for DC. I'm not sure that I'll dive deep on this banner on my main, though.

On my backup account, I'm building a f2p armor team as my main arena team, so I'll probably spend every orb I have pulling for DC.

I have a Nephenee currently too, I just don't want to give her up (helps she's a +atk/-res Neph too). Now if I got a second Neph then absolutely Fir would get Wrath in that situation.

And sorry to Karla fans but I'd rather keep a Nephenee than a Karla if I had to choose between the two for giving Wrath to Fir. I'm indifferent to Karla in Blazing Blade, whereas Nephenee is one of my favorite units from PoR/RD and Fir is my absolute favorite Binding Blade character.

I'm getting ready to pull 3-4 Hectors if I can. Anybody know how many orbs that normally requires?

I don't have much in the way of armours at the moment (nor do I have IVs of Effie or Gwendolyn or Sheena that I want) but I'm looking at giving it to Effie and Sheena. I'm also looking at possibly Camilla? for one of the best support-focused units in a flier team. And I want to play Hector for a little bit just to see what it's like, but I guess I could play him first and fodder after and not keep one around, especially if Sheena gets DC.

It entirely depends on what the third focus unit is on the banner, but usually it's about 100-120 orbs to pull a single focus 5* unit. So figure if you need 3-4 that you should have about 400-450 orbs set aside.

That's correct: anywhere between 250-350 depending on the month.

I just might get there. If my calculations are right, 250-300 orbs would normally net me approximately two Hectors and two pitybreakers. Favours me that there's hardly a green 5* I wouldn't be somewhat pleased with.

Im saving orbs for the new characters banner next month.I'm skipping all banners the rest of this month unless ayra,b lucina or b roy pops up since there merge projects for me.

Just a reminder: LA Hector will be making his return in the next couple Legendary banners. You might want to consider skipping this Hector banner if you plan to pull heavily on that one.

What other greens are due for return?

Myrrh, LA Lilina, LA Hector, Olwen, W. Lissa, and M. Grima will all be coming up within the next 3 Legendary banners. There is some small chance we'll also see Rhajat.

Not going to spend orbs on this banner. Even if I did get a Hector, I rather keep him to use because I don't have him. (I do have his LA alt, though.)

Also, I wouldn't know who to give DC to. :/

I recently used my last Hector so I'm going to try and grab another one.
Nothing specific in mind for it yet but it's a very useful option to have available e.g. if I ever get a Myrrh or an Effie or maybe something new will come out that wants it. Who knows the next time he'll be on a banner, and I probably wouldn't want to use an LA or CYL Hector as fodder.

I still think the still is somewhat overrated. You're sacrificing an A-slot and need really good stats to pull it off. Otherwise, may as well stick with an actual A-slot that allows you to do what you best.

Agreed! The Soleil page recommends distant counter! I couldn't believe it!

The skill is not overrated. You have to realize that is is imperrative for the highest levels of arena to get units to maximum SP costs and thus scoring. Also, it makes units like Sheena/Wendy worth using. Hell, even Hector would be meh without it.

I find Sheena and Gwendolyn very good units, DC or not. Can't really argue the arena scoring SP thing, but I always encourage people to play how they feel is truest to themselves and let the arena system rank them where it will; more important to enjoy the way you play and know that you enjoy it rather than striving after affirmation from a system as problematic as the current arena score calculator.

I have 480 saved for DC. I want 3. 1 to keep and 2 to fodder to Gwendolyn and Sheena.

Definitely for my F!Kana or Amelia. They've been waiting for that sweet, sweet retaliation from mages and archers.
So I only need two Hector's. Shouldn't be too hard. (*Hopefully*)
