I Usually don’t spend a lot of orbs on seasonal banner but since I started playing 3-4 months ago the winter envoy I used 160 it got me 2x Lisa and a W tharja
And for the la I believe I’m going to spend 300 cause hector and lyn would complete my emblem

Depends if there's a unit(s) I like, their stats/kit are good and how many orbs I have at hand.

Unit I like and would improve my team: All in, this is what I've been saving my orbs for.
Unit I like but won't improve my team: Drop orbs until I get my pity reset or ran out of orbs which ever comes first.
Unit I like, would improve my team but upcoming banner in a few days has my interest: Wait.

One instance I kept trying for was Myrrh. I got S!Eirika on my first 50 orbs but had to spend something like 200 for Myrrh.

Well, I like seasonal banners. Depending how much I like the units I usually summon until I have like two 5* units. If the first unit already took like a hundred orbs I usually stop after the first one.

LA is an exception, I am currently at 229 orbs here, and I will continue until I get a second one. First one was a bad LA Hector after like 150 orbs so I'd like another one to merge him.

However, it depends on the focus heroes and most importantly on the 5* pulls. I feel like wasting orbs, if I stop without getting a 5*.

Edit: I'm pretty much F2P and I do not snipe for specific units.

For any banner, I ask myself 3 questions before deciding to summon.

1: Is this banner crucial to an upcoming event (like the LA units being 40% TT bonus units). If so, then I will spend a minimum 100 orbs, and if I do not hit a focus unit before then, I go to the next pitybreaker or focus unit and then stop. LA cost me 200 orbs for 3 pitybreakers and 0 focus units.

2: Does this banner have anything vital to my teams? If none of the units will excessively help me, I will not bother pulling and hold off since I am currently tier 19.5, consistently improve my weekly standings in the AA, and can beat any challenge thrown at me. But if a unit can grant me skills/merges to get to T20 or jump my AA score a notable amount, I would budget orbs based on what I have and pull accordingly.

3: Are any units ones that I really want? If so, I will pull, but the list of wanted units is a rather short one for me.

I fell off the wagon for my summoning rules and dumped an unnecessary amount of orbs into the herofest and legendary banner last month, and the RNG gods were very unforgiving. Although I did get some solid fodder, the 5* units were mostly forgettable, except steady breath fodder and summer robin for lance sp boosting.

I don't spend on seasonals at all.

I just don't like how the units look (armored units without seeable armor), don't want to use Xmas units in summer or Bikini units in winter and don't like to use double units (I have a prefect IV Bike, thus sitting my perfect IV Ike+1 and already breaking my head about the VIke we probably will get) which the seasonals always resemble.

The only exception was the PA banner since these units didn't feel that seasonal (and I don't have an Azura).

That said: I always summon one full circle to use the free summon and the cheapened 4/3 Orb summons, hoping to not to get a seasonal.

Not having flying or armored mages or a flying dancer might make things harder for me, but I'm somewhat about the aesthetics of my unit roster.

Report

It depends on if I REALLY want a unit or not, even then I'll dump 200 orbs at the most. If they're seasonal, I'll wait a couple weeks to see if the desire is still there and then I'll spend that extra. Otherwise, I wait until units I've been really wanting for a long time show up and just go off free summons for a while.

I don't have a "set" budget other than my max amount of orbs.
I got good IV NY! Camilla and Azura in less than 100 orbs, and that was it.
I went for Hinoka during her TT banner, and settled on a bad IV one within 20 orbs.

I did blow up every single orb I had for the LA! Banner, because I was in desperate need of DC fodder (502 orbs netted me 16 5*, of which 5 were Hectors), but now I'm back to saving.

I was lucky to get a +spd/-hp Azura from the BHB banner within 40 orbs, otherwise I would have gone as far as the rest of my ~150 orbs allowed me.

This New Power banner is an easy pass for me.

My point is, I'm careful with what I spend on, but if there's something I really need or want, will go as far as I have to (only spent money on the LA! Banner because those DCs were detrimental to my Armor Emblem arena core).

I try and pull one 5* unit from each "new unit" banner. Typically, I'll pull until I get a 5*. Sometimes, I get one right away, sometimes I get pity broken. Usually you'll get something in 80 or so orbs. Sometimes the banner hates me and I'll have to use more. (This usually ends with some random pity breaker lol)

I used to try and snipe for units I wanted, but I've been disappointed too many times. Now I just take what the RNG gods provide and don't worry too much about not getting the shiny new unit everyone is talking about.

I've personally found I get less pissed off by bad pulls if I spread them out. So, rather than spending 80 orbs on one day with nothing to show for it, I'll pull 5 units a day. This results in a lot less orb rage. Ha

Report

Yeah, I do that too...if the banner allows it, I go for one circe a day or if I snipe for about 5 pulls per day.

I also use to pull on special places and occasions. If I'm on a hike, I try to have a banner and orbs ready for it. If I'm on a party, I do the same...and so on.

So if I pull a nice unit, it will always remember me how nice the place/time was. There are a lot of units, that mean something for me, just because I didn't just pull them at home when the banner arrived.

Report

Depends on what units. For Halloween, I spent about 80-90 orbs for Henry and Sakura (Actually wanted Jakob..).

Winter banner, I spent around 120 orbs for nothing.......

New Years banner, I spent about 20 orb for Azura.

Recent Legendary Banner, I spent about 80 orbs for Sanaki and got V!Ike and Siegbert......

Recent banner with Raven, Felicia, etc, I spent 0 orbs.

Report

I try to limit myself, usually if it's units I really want I'll do maybe a few sessions but it depends on how many colors there are of the units I want, and my pity rate. I usually also have this thing that I do where if I don't get the units I want I stop until the last minute of the banner and do a few summoning sessions with the orbs I've accrued. It sometimes gives me at least 1 unit. I try not to go under 20 orbs though because that's a full slate of orbs.

Report

I always spend on seasonal banners. Never any banners that will keep a character in the pool, like the banner with Myrrh. Exceptions brave heroes, and some legendary banners.
Basically, I just spend all the orbs I've accumulated and just spend them all. Since seasonals are pretty spread out, I can save quite a few orbs.

Report

Usually I stay away from seasonal banners. Although, I did spend 100 orbs on the Xmas banner until I got Tharja. AS FOR THE VDAY BANNER...

I CAN'T STOP SPENDING ORBS ON IT! I HAVE A HECTOR, ROY, AND THREE LILINAS, BUT I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF.

Report

I used to have a 95 orb limit on banners. Doesn't matter which type. Now I have a 55 orb limit (trying to maintain a <300 ally barrack...because management skills...and cheapskate).

The most I spent on a banner was either Trick or Defeat or winter festival. I was trying to get Sakura and Robin. I actually call Robin satan Robin instead of winter/santa Robin because of the amount of orbs I used/stress I had from trying to obtain him.
