How to improve my main man Sigurd?

Pictured below is the Sigurd I have now. He's got what I think is his best IV combo, +Spd/-Res. I want to improve him while keeping his score as high as possible. As I work on my next merge project(will be either F!Corrin or A!Tiki. Decision will be made when I see Tiki's new weapon) mages are starting to disappear more and more from my opposing matchups. I'm hoping to get ideas for both Enemy Phase and Player Phase sets, because if I make Corrin, she'll be Player Phase and I'll need an enemy phase set, and if I make Tiki, she'll be Enemy Phase and I'll need a Player Phase set.

Did I confuse anyone with that last part? ^_^

The only thing I absolutely can't give him is the Quick Riposte seal. That is Fae's treasure, and she guards it jealously like any dragon guarding its treasure. Sadly, can't give him Flashing Blade, either(never pulled Mia) but I do have an extra Ike who is -Atk (a.k.a. Heavy Blade Fodder) sitting around. He'll never see the battlefield since I have a +atk Ike.

Since his res is not that great maybe go back to close def instead of distant counter and maybe instead of heavy blade for seal add quicken pulse instead. Never had a sigurd before so I don't have a build for him since I would just use his original build but that one is what I have seen used on him. Never distant Counter though. Just an idea though.

No. The difference in having a resistance bane and not having one is small when you factor it with his weapon and Crusader's ward. That's the reason why -Res is preferred. His weapon and B skill massively cover the resistance lost. +Spd allows him to avoid doubles vs blade mages and Crusader's ward is only against Reinhardt, Olwen, and Brave Bow B!Lyn.

If you really want to focus on Sigurd as the main guy on your team you could use odd attack wave to boost his attack to 61 on odd turns and then give tactics to the rest of your team so he gets + 6 to all stats from his team members Now that I think about it Glimmer, Draconic Aura etc. would work too with how high is attack would be. Deflect Melee is to completely nullify any desperation or brave weapon user with his weapon and Crusador Ward blocking most range damage he'll be able to block a lot of melee damage with deflect melee as well.

Ah fair enough, tbh I don't think Heavy blade's needed for that set since the main aspect of him is absorbing damage, steady breath or something would be better with the way he works but unfortunately he can't learn that :( I'd say keep DC and Deflect Melee over Heavy Blade personally.
