How has Heroes affected your perspective on Fire Emblem?

As stated above, I'm curious as to how Heroes has affected on how you look at Fire Emblem. Bit of an odd question and I wasn't quite sure on how to word it, but the gist of it is what has Heroes taught you about Fire Emblem? For me, I had no idea who 99% of the characters were that weren't from either Awakening or Fates (Yeah, I'm one of those fans). Playing FE Heroes for just over a year now I've learned quite a lot about the characters of each game, and exactly what they did and their role of the game they came from.

Example: I had no idea the 2nd generation of Genealogy was happening around the time Thracia was going on. That Seliph and Leif are cousins due to Quan marrying Sigurd's sister Ethlyn... Also a couple incest relationships here and there...

So again, was just curious as to what Heroes has taught you about the Fire Emblem series.

Believe it or not, my first approach to fire emblem was fire emblem 7 when I played it on an emulator. When I played fire emblem heroes, I had never even heard of fates or awakening. I knew characters from the older games like new mystery of the emblem and shadows of valentia( the original, I think it was gaiden but I’m not sure) as well as genealogy.
The gba games were my first hit and my first knowledge of fates and awakening was through feh.
It made me basically fall in love with many different characters after I watched the games on YouTube and proceeded to play them myself, including Henry, owain, odin, Frederick, xander( no hate pls), corrin( don’t hurt me), Felicia and Flora. It furthered my love for this series and I love it

Heroes has mostly introduced me to the whole FE fanbase, since I never really contributed to any FE themed online discussions and forums and only shared my old FE experiences with my friends.
The community has its pros and cons, but I think that FEH really seems to put all these people together thanks to it being a huge FE crossover. It's nice that the whole fanbase with different tastes and different favorite FE titles can get "united" under this simple mobile game.

Same with me, together with watching more FE content on youtube.

I've been a fan since I was about 9 years old, when I happend to buy FE7 in a toy store. It basicly was the first game I really got into.

But before heroes it was always just that thing I was a big fan of. Now it's something that's always kinda present.

Yeah, and even gamepress community is one of the things that I enjoy a lot about this game. There's always some interesting topic going on or a worthwhile discussion and since the game is constantly going forward, it's nice that we can share the process together in here.

I've always been a fan of the gameplay of Strategy RPGs, so I've owned the NA releases for a while, I just never got into playing them as the introduction to the storyline is generally fairly weak. That said Heroes has helped to raise my interest through the characters so with that said I have began playing the games today.

Heroes didn't really impact my view, since I had already played/beaten all the main series games. It did, however, influence my favorite characters.

I had already played several FE games before Feh, those being FE6,7,8, and Shadow Dragon. I was one of the ones who got into FE Through Smash Bros. Playing Feh drove me to pick up Awakening and Fates, and now I'm playing through Echoes for the first time.

It also taught me about characters from Thracia and Genealogy and the Tellius games. It even introduced me to Soleil, one of my favourite FE Characters period.

Though it did also show me how much i hate some of the fanbase but ya win some ya lose some.

I’m literally the same as you. After FEH launched, I was instantly in love with FE. Now I’m playing the older games on an emulator.

Me too except I'm playing games on my wii-u and/or raiding my brother's 3ds collection. I'll spend a couple hundred on Tellius series when I get my next bonus (whenever that is).

I can't say it's helped me much as I already had knowledge of the previous games before Heroes, but I love hearing that Heroes has had a positive effect on the less familiar fans.
