How good is Warding Breath?
I feel like I haven't given this skill much thought. Part it may have to do with just how ill-suited and counterproductive it is on Ike, lol.
First and only thing that comes to mind is Dragons, and maybe a distant counter unit with high Res (basically, Fjorm?). At least with Steady Breathm you're mostly facing physical units up-close.

It's not very convincing. You need something like 40 or more, to tank mages reliably. Ike likely survives a hit as it is, so it's not like it saves him much beyond that unless he's at a traingle advantage. Best case for it is probably surviving a strong Blue, but that's about it. I think he barely survives a 60 Atk Delthea, if even (not a bad feat, just not insane?).

It's situational, but its still a good skill no matter what because it gives +1 special charge to all attacks during the enemy phase. It should only be used in conjunction with units that have distant counter built into weapons but you can find uses for it. In essence, you're right, it's not that great on V!Ike and is better used on other units.
I use it on my fully merged +def nowi so she sits at 41 def and 31 res. During enemy phase res bumps up to 35, throw in DD3 seal, she has 41 res on enemy phase. A +res nowi would have 44 res and +res Lightning Breath would reach 47 res. I also put it on my +res Zelgius, he reaches 32 res on enemy phase. Throw in Fortify armor thats 38 res, add a Ward armor and it could reach 42.
