How to Donnel?

I have enough Donnels to create a +10 beast. The question here is… 4* or 5* merge? I will need a lot of feathers but is Donnel worth it to 5*+10 considering he has higher BST?

I want to build him now since he's a bonus unit in the current TT and that means a ton of SP I can use to build him in the future. I also want to hear (well, read) personal experiences with IV's and builds instead of just looking at his Hero profile.

In case you want to know their IV's, they're as follows:
+Atk -Spd
+HP -Def
+Def -HP x2
+Def -Res
+Res -Def
+Atk -HP
+Atk -Res x2
Neutral x3
+Spd -Res

As a bonus here's a good tip from him, if you played MGS you'll get the reference.

If you're in a budget go for a 4* +10 +def -res or +atk -spd.

But if you realy like donnel and you have the resource to fodder into him then make him into a 5* +10 with one of the same IVS as above.

Build for both star rarity

(this one I would recommend to have a - spd instead of a -res)

5* is always optimal if you plan on using him competitively. Otherwise, a 4* merge is acceptable for AA use.

I actually have a 4*+10 Donny, +atk-spd, solely for use in AA. A regular Brave lance lets him still hit pretty hard 2 times, and the only investments he has gotten have been reposition, bonfire, and threaten atk 3. He does his job well enough for me to be happy, but I know he would do much better if he had investment.

I always use my units competitively in case they're bonus units in Arena or for Quests so I'll 5* one and gather all the SP I can for skills. Cherche and Morgan (F) already have 9,999, lol.

Cherche is another 4*+10 unit for me, because she is good enough as just that to be a mainstay in my OG flier team. Only have 3000 SP, but she’s fully built with an optimal Brave kit. Just got the 4th member of flier 2 tonight by getting Gerome.

My Cherche is a 5* since I was planning to merge her, too bad I used her as Pivot fodder many times so I had to wait for that, lol.

I'm halfway there, I took a break at 50k because grinding gets quite boring after a while.

oddly enough i just finishes my 5*+10 donnel today. i built him -hp +defense with distant counter, wrath, threaten speed, speed sacred seal and speed refine berkuts lance. he clocks in at a tasty 53 attack 39 speed and with his defense, 49 hp, and the extra resistance from berkuts lance there are very few assaults he cant comfortably shrug off and when threaten speed and a wrath boosted special come in next round there are practically no units that can survive him. its not an overstatement to say that he can literally do whatever i ask of him and is my favorite unit to use by far

+Def -HP is also helpful in case I need a mixed tank so I think I'll go with these IV's then, thanks!

Ha, ha! I love his "Donnel Solo" videos, they are impressive. I may use some of the builds he has to give me more ideas.

Phew! Glad you got some good advice here. Yes you absolutely should build a 5* max merge Donnel and +def or +atk with a -HP bane would be best as use can mitigate the -HP bane by refining a weapon for him which will give him a HP increase covering his bane easily.

Refined Berkuts Lance or refined Slaying Lance would be my picks and make him a defensive pivot. Skills wise, it depends what you have available to you, but if you want any advice on your build as you make him just post it up on the board

Wait, isn't +Res -HP the ideal choice? I mean, I was deciding between +Def or +Atk and found out +Res it's a superboon and as a mixed tank with Berkut's Lance you can refine it for Def to have a solid 36/34 when attacked, it's just 1 extra point in BST but every point counts, lol.
